Spectre is all but flushed out of Wellston, but EMBER intends to fill the void they left behind. They'll not have an easy time of it, thanks to the late W. H. Doe. The resurgence of Unordinary is opening eyes everywhere, deteriorating the public trust the Authorities have long relied upon to operate smoothly. And if that weren't enough, those most familiar with the government's true nature intend to shine the light of truth on all the darkness. All sides can expect a bitter struggle as they attempt to achieve their ideal society.
Seraphina managed to avoid arrest, but all her peers know that there are still plenty of non-desirables at Wellston High the Authorities will be gunning for next. At the top of the list is the Headmaster. Arlo, troubled by the viciousness his aunt displayed during hersting, suggests that Remi find a place where she and her squad can lay low. Luckily for them, Grayson provides. At New Bostin, Adrion discovers the first signs of life in the old Doe home! But his spirits don't remain lifted.
Disturbed by William's radio silence, Cameron decides to investigate his whereabouts, even if he's not a big fan of his brother-in-law. The shaman he brought sheds light on what happened to the author. John's about to have his world shattered.
Cameron delivers the bad news to John, who neither believes nor respects him for it. The man left the keepsakes from William to his nephew. In the solitude of his own room, John breaks down, lamenting his loneliness. The letter from his mother worsens his morale, now that he discovers the truth behind her desertion of the Does.
Fed up with the ongoing manhunt for Leilah and Seraphina, Darren rips their 'Wanted' poster off. His action invites trouble into his doorsteps, which he subsequently deals with. But now the three had to flee from Wellston for good. Meanwhile at school, Remi, Blyke, and Isen pay John a visit, after the latter failed to show up at classes and Safe House sessions.
The trio discover John worse for wear, after being cooped out in his dorm for days. He decides to tell them what happened to his father. They help him compress the late author's finest work into a bite-sized version. Later, John finds out Seraphina's no longer in town from Kayden, who also gives him Darren's new and improved tonic from before.
The group successfully abridge Unordinary into a more digestible variant, with the trio spreading it the next day. Doc's concoction causes John to catch fever, but it work wonders. He gives his fully-restored powers a test drive against Zeke, who happens to disparage William at his arrival.
Arlo rescues Zeke from further beatdown, and chews John for excessive violence. John, in turn, airs the dirty laundry of those in power. Overwhelmed, Arlo takes a break from his job, and informs Kassandra of his decision. He also shares to her the possibility of EMBER and Authorities being related.
Zeke reports John to the Authorities, pining him as the accomplice of Seraphina. Meanwhile, Byron visits an old friend of his, with intentions of finishing what he started...
Kuyo manages to escape the ambush, taking residence in the hideout while briefly mistaken Grayson for an enemy. Later, the vigilantes receive a significant boost when Arlo hands Remi his boss business card. She and the group agree to send the evidences of EMBER being Authorities' secret division to the investigator.
A mysterious folder arrives at Kassandra's apartment. It contains flash drive with videoproofs of Authorities' own Anti-Terrorism division were EMBER all along. Kassandra brings them to Arlo, who's having an epiphany because of the truth regarding his aunt.
John casually reveals to his class that his father is killed by Authorities for writing Unordinary. He lashes out on Dylan during sparring session because of the latter's (and everyone's) lack of progress on learning the lessons he imparted. Later, Remi approaches him on the rooftop to talk about their long-term goals.
The Authorities arrest Vaughn at his residence, with the visiting Keene looks on. Soon, he takes matters into his own hands, destroying everyone in his way to save his mentor. Meanwhile, Vaughn tells Kassandra about his past, including his history with the government dogs and Keene.
Keene arrives at the middle of the police convoy, demanding Kassandra to return his master immediately. He continues his rampage, requiring the combined effort of Kassandra, Byron and the remaining officer to stop him.
With Vaughn gone AWOL, Authorities ring in Sylvia, Wellston's former headmistress, back into the foray. Her first orders of business is reinstating rank matches, inspecting unsupervised clubs, and expel any unqualified low-tiers starting next year. She also tries to arrest the Royals trio for their vigilante shenanigans.
Remi, Blyke, and Isen are having difficulties dealing with the officers. Their glimmer of hope arrives in the form of a vengeful John, who's ready to take Authorities down for stripping him off the people that matter the most to him. Feeling indebted and unwilling to see John die for their sake, Remi and Blyke vow to return the favor to him. Meanwhile, Arlo witnesses first-hand what Farrah is capable of, and asks for her permission to assist.
After disposing his companions, Arlo meets Isen, who's on his way to back up Remi and Blyke in rescuing John. The latter two are dealing with Farrah, who reveals her true colors to the duo. Elsewhere, John swats through waves of Authorities, and has a chance encounter with Zeke, alongside the next batch of officers.
Remi and Blyke greatly struggle against Farrah's multipleabilities. Just when things seem very bleak for them, Arlo and Isen show up to assist them, the former pretty much kills all hope of working for Authorities. On the other hand, John makes quick work of Zeke and the officers, but now must face the Headmistress, who brings her own goons.
Sylvia showcases the reason why she used to rule Wellston High, by robbing John of all his senses. The already badly-injured boy greatly struggles against her and the band of officers she brought. At another wing of the school, the quartet of Royals and Arlo finally defeated Farrah. However, the former King is unable to land the killing blow on her. Little did they know it would be costly...
Battered and bruised, John succumbs to his injuries and passed out after a valiant fight against Sylvia and the officers. Before the Authorities could transport him to the prison, Arlo and the Royals come to the rescue. Unfortunately, Farrah also returns after healing herself. And thus begins the heroes' last stand.
