Codename: Tech. Real name unknown. Serves Spectre primarily as a technology specialist.
Appearance
Tech has long orange hair tied into a pair of braids. Her eyes are pink. She wears casual clothing, and outfits herself with a pair of gloves, a visor, and an earpiece when working. Agent Rowden recalled her wearing a hardhat once.
Personality
On the surface, Tech is much like other Spectre agents, whose focus is squarely on the task at hand. But as is the case with most others in her organization, her comrades shouldn't count on her to have their backs. Though Spectre is disjointed, Tech serves whatever faction she's part of as best as she can, making sure any other fellow agents are kept out of the loop.
Plot
Infiltration
Spectre sought data on Conversion Technology, as well as a physical sample that was produced as part of the research. Both were held in a NXGen facility in Arcwood. To that end, a team was formed in order to access it. Tech was placed on that team in order to handle security.[1] She was also secretly assigned to keep an eye on Asset 47 (aka Seraphina), who was key part of this and future operations. In that capacity, Tech was meant to make sure the new recruit didn't jeopardize their work any more than she already tried to. Namely, the ambush other agents would carry out on isolated targets on Rowden Hill.[2]
On the morning of the mission, Team Rowden pulled up to the target campus in their van. Tech stepped out, promising to have everything ready on her end in 15 minutes. She delivered, and live feed was being broadcast to her team.[3] After the first objective was acquired, Rowden let Tech know so that she could work her magic on the cameras and mask Seraphina's exit from the heavily-guarded room. Then came the tricky part: doing the same thing to the cameras outside the locked lab doors containing the second objective within a time-frame lasting mere seconds. It was tense, but Seraphina managed to gain entry to the lab with the time Tech bought her.
Things seemed calm, but that just made the ensuing storm more pronounced. Seraphina's ability suddenly gave out, exposing her presence to the security cameras. The red alert that went out in the facility was far beyond Tech's ability to silence, and so the team regrouped in the van for a getaway. They had to wait for the Communicator to telepathically guide Seraphina to the emergency exit they were waiting by. Fortunately, she had enough power to slip past the guards and reach the van. Though things were hairy for a moment, Seraphina managed to bring back both the data and sample for Spectre.[4]
While on the freeway, Seraphina stood up and asked to be dropped off in Rowden Town. Tech told her to sit down and put on her seat belt, while Rowden explained that business came first. Seraphina made a bid for the return of her confiscated phone. Tech reluctantly did so, but forbade her from turning it on. The excuse she made for this was that it could be used to trace their position and jeopardize the mission. The group reached a distant gas station and turned over the goods to another Agent. After their contact drove off, Seraphina asked if she could use her phone. Rowden told her to wait a bit more, but Seraphina eventually defied their orders. Before they could stop her, the phone dinged with numerous notifications about Safe House splitting up. It didn't take long for Seraphina to realize their other plot.[5] In a fit of rage at their betrayal, Seraphina beat up Tech and the other agents, kicking them out of the van before stealing the vehicle and driving off.[6]
The three were out for some time, but Tech eventually came to first. She pulled out her phone and reported that her failure resulted in Asset 47 likely gathering reinforcements to intercept the agents at Rowden Hill. Her contact confirmed her report and acknowledged her efforts before hanging up to relay the news to others. Tech then saw that Rowden was stirring and went to check up on him. He was fine enough to wonder why Seraphina lashed out at them. Tech played dumb regarding Seraphina's motivations, leaving Rowden to figure out how to explain the news to his superiors.[2]
Powers and Abilities
Tech's ability has yet to be showcased in the story.
Technological Expertise
Tech is able to hack into the sophisticated security systems of high-profile companies like NXGen. Once inside, she can take the footage of surveillance cameras, display them on Spectre's monitors, and briefly loop it in order to cover their organization's tracks.
