UnOrdinary Wikia

Sylvia is the Headmistress in charge of Wellston Private High School. She was retired until her successor's brush with the law necessitated her to resume her old post.

Personality

Former Wellston Headmistress

Sylvia is traditional when it comes to leadership. She prefers that the students stick to their studies whilst minding the hierarchy. The role of the school staff was similar, and they were expected to ensure that nothing got out of hand.[1] Getting her strongest students to network with each other was as involved with them as she was known to get.[2]

Upon returning, she demonstrates that she still held firm to the old ways. Her first announcement as returning headmistress made it clear that any reforms made under Vaughn would be abolished, and she intended to reestablish a hierarchical system that favored the powerful, with the exception of those who broke the law.

Speaking of the law, her willingness to cooperate with the Authorities also sets her apart from Vaughn. Should any of her students be their targets, she would gladly round them up on their behalf.[3]

History

Sylvia was in charge of Wellston High when Kassandra was a student there. Rei and Kuyo spent at least their freshman year under her, during which she personally encouraged the latter to get acquainted with Kassandra and the other Royals of the time. [2]

Sylvia checked on the freshmen's status, asking Kassandra to report their progress. She also offered the senior a chance to work as an Authority on the semi-permanent basis once she graduated. Kassandra gladly accepted the invitation.[4]

Plot

Uprising

In the aftermath of the terrorism committed against Authorities by Vaughn and his second-in-command, Emmet on behalf of Authorities contacted Sylvia to lead Wellston again. She happily complied, and pledged her loyalty to them.[5]

The next day, Sylvia arrived at Wellston. She officially regained her position, and kickstarted her reign by vowing to make the school great again. Her first decree was to inspect all existing clubs. Should they not up to the standard, they will be disbanded. Next, she intended to reinstate rank matches to gauge the levels of her students. Finally, she promised to kick any students faring below 2.4 starting next year. Those standing above 4.0 would receive privileges accordingly. One particular student was delighted with her upcoming tenure, while a certain club dreaded their fate under her regime.

In her office, several officers gathered around Sylvia. She demanded to know why the current Royals weren't traditionally the strongest students at her disposal. She also planned to hand Blyke, Isen, and Remi to the Authorities for the crimes they done before she came back to leadership.[3]

Not content with sitting still, Sylvia strolled around the campus with some of the officers in tow. She encountered another problem child beating up Zeke while ranting about powers and their purpose. She declared that she won't make the same mistake as her predecessor in letting students disturbing the peace and hierarchical system in place. Despite his injuries, John stood up to face the Headmistress. Sylvia lamented that a powerhouse such as him had to be taken down instead of being the poster boy of Wellston. John dismissed her assessment, stating that he would rather die than becoming another cog in her machine. Seeing that her diplomatic approach led to nothing, Sylvia ushered the officers to apprehend him. She also made sure that John won't have an easy fight this time.[6]

John displayed that even with the handicap, it was nothing he couldn't withstand. To the point where Sylvia was impressed. However, she laid her game plan clear to the newly arrived reinforcements: none of them should activate their abilities in front of John. Despite being nerfed, John could still sniff the lingering aura emanated from the officers. Sylvia told them to spectate the former King for any possible weaknesses before jumping in to fight him. She also buffed the officers so they could continue fighting.

The plan appeared to be working; it led John to believe Sylvia is the last one standing after he defeated the officers. He blasted a beam her way. However, the dormant officers sprung to her defence, activating their shield just in time to block his attack. Another set of officers fired their laser at John, which successfully connected with his back. John started to struggle by the strength in numbers, as well as their "invisibility". [7]

John's resilience started to worry Sylvia. After everything she and her goons threw his way, he still refused to keel over. She witnessed as John got up again and again, while electrocuting some of the agents. As John charged up again towards her, the shield squad deterred his effort. Finally, the combined effort of their group paid dividend as John succumbed to both his prior wounds and their attack, and passed out.

Now that the battle is over, Sylvia asked for updates regarding Farrah's status. Once she deemed that the captain had handled her own side, Sylvia ordered the officers to evacuate John and get him some first aids. Unfortunately, some stray beams and waves of lightning knocked out the officers carrying John. His friends arrived to rescue him. To her surprise, among them was the Defense King Arlo. Sylvia bemoaned that Vaughn's influence spread even to him. She voiced her disappointment that the top students chose to become rebels instead of Authorities' prospects. When Blyke made it clear that he did not share her sentiment, she decided to blind the kids. Arlo's Barrier prevented her ability from reaching them, but he clearly was not trying to fight her. To make things worse for them, Farrah reemerged!

Sylvia was not the only one surprised to see Farrah brandished her claws, as the officers expressed their feelings as well. Not that it mattered at the moment. Sylvia issued the officers an order to nullify the renegades. She took away their pain, allowing them to storm towards the barrier. As the kids were cornered, Blyke blew the wall as a last ditch attempt to make their own exit. Sylvia witnessed Remi and Isen leapt to the ground level, with an unconscious John on the latter's back.

It was apparent being attacked on both side overwhelmed Arlo and Blyke completely. With Farrah destroying the dome, Sylvia's sleeping gas took hold of the duo.[8]

After the two Kings collapsed, Sylvia ordered Farrah to give chase on the fugitives. However, the officer assured her that with their friends arrested, tracking them would be a child's play. Sylvia tried to get Farrah to address the elephant in the room, but she said that it was a top secret stuff that she did not have ANY clearance to speak of. She also told the Headmistress should she decided to sate her curiosity, she could use her Bureau's network to find out herself. Farrah thanked her for her cooperation while putting the officers under her spell, so as to not memorize what they had just saw.[9]

Powers & Abilities

Sensory Control: Sylvia is capable of taking someone's senses away, trapping them in an endless dark haze. She is also capable of manipulating someone's sense of pain, as shown when she amplifies John's pain, while also nullifying the officers'.
