Predator (formerly known as Hunter) is a versatile ability that grants its user a range of powers allowing them to hunt down other people.
Description[]
Predator grants a large variety of enhancements that mostly pertain to strength and tracking capabilities.
When using Predator, the user gains no visible physical enhancements. However, their body is surrounded by a glow of their signature colour, and a crosshair (also in the user's signature colour) will appear on whatever the Predator user targets.
Usage[]
- Targeting: Users can "lock on" to a person's heartbeat and track it's movement. Anything that is targeted will have a crosshair on them.
- X-Ray Vision: Users can look though objects and see what is inside them. Isen has shown to be able to see human organs or people inside buildings with his x-ray vision.
- Heartbeat reading: Users are capable of reading heartbeats to see if someone is telling the truth or not.
- Enhanced Strength: Isen has displayed the strength to punch Blyke through a solid wall[1] and stop a moving truck without any visible injury.[2] He is also strong enough to shake the ground by punching it, causing people standing in front of him to momentarily lose their balance.[3]
- Enhanced Speed: Isen has shown that he's able to increase his speed thanks to his Predator ability.
- Enhanced Durability: Isen can be sturdy too as he managed to partially withstand explosion[4] and flame claws.[5]
- Telescopic Vision: Isen was able to observe the fight between John and some bullies from a window high up the school building. [6]
- Enhanced Precision: Predator users also have precise targeting skills, allowing them to target vital areas of their opponents and even precisely pinpoint enemies from afar. Isen has used this aspect of his ability to help Blyke snipe foes from a distance.
- Enhanced Hearing: According to Isen, Predator also enhances his hearing, allowing him to hear conversations from a distance and through walls. [7] The latter case requires some proximity, meaning Isen needs to be up against a wall to hear what's on the other side.
- Seismic Sense: Isen is shown to sense the presence of people surrounding him. When Isen performed this, his is seen with his eyes closed on top of water in a dark void. This implies that Isen is sensing the presence of others by vibrations similar to a water like fashion.[8]
- Sense Focusing: Isen has shown to focus all his senses to look for a sound by blocking out all others. When being used, he is shown closing his eyes and focusing deeply. It seems to be extremely accurate when trying to detect all sources of sound. It is unknown if he can do the same for his Enhanced Vision or if this is simply an extension of his Enhanced Hearing.
- Transformation: Isen has shown that, at a high enough level, Predator is capable of altering the user’s physical appearance in several ways. Upon transforming, Isen’s pupils turned to slits, his muscle mass increased, he grew fangs from his teeth and claws from his fingernails, and his body sported black stripes on his back, shoulders, wrists, and calfs, and brown shading on his hands and feet.[9]
- Homing Projectiles (John only): Upon copying Predator, users of Aura Manipulation can use it to enhance copied projectile-based abilities with homing properties. These will chase after targeted opponents even if they move out of the user's original line of fire.
- Missile Punch (John only): By combining Predator with the ability Missiles, John can punch an opponent with a missile generated in-hand and then launch said missile with pinpoint precision to send foes flying.[4]
- Homing Shock Beam (John only): By combining Predator with the abilities Energy Discharge and Lightning, John can shoot numerous lightning-enhanced energy beams that home in on their targets. Not only can these beams deal massive amounts of damage, but they can also shock foes.
Strengths and Limitations[]
Predator grants its user a plethora of sensory and physical enhancements tailored to track and subdue targets. Like most augmentation abilities, Predator enhances the user's speed, strength, and defense. With this physical increase, Isen has shown that he could stop a speeding semi-truck with his bare hands or send any hapless foe flying through a wall. He is also fast and sturdy enough to somewhat defend himself from a lethal attack.
What distinguishes Predator from similar strength-boosting abilities is that Predator also grants a variety of sensory enhancements that allows its user to track down and target foes. The aforementioned sensory enhancements allows Isen to keep tabs on his his opponents, even if they are obscured by buildings, walls, or other opaque solids, and his enhanced hearing allows him to eavesdrop on conversations without being seen. Despite not posessing any long-ranged properties, the precision of Predator users is unparalleled. This is best shown when Isen used his ability to target distant foes for Blyke to snipe, and when John used Predator's tracking capabilities to attack Blyke and Remi by using long-ranged, homing attacks.
Tiers[]
From elite-tier to god-tier level, the user can see various people inside of the building from distance. In mid-tier level, the augmented and sensory abilities are very limited as Isen can only sense with his ability in very short distance.[10]
Weakness[]
Like all abilities, Predator users can be overpowered by those of a higher level as shown when Isen couldn't budge Arlo's arm, despite the fact that he could stop a truck with his hands.[11] Isen has also displayed that he can be weakened should his target suddenly die, as shown when Alana was killed by Volcan. However, this may have simply been the psychological shock of seeing a person die. The fighting range and ability to hit multiple people are limited since it mainly involved using physical attacks to work. Due to this limitation, the user has to hit the ground to create a ranged attack[12] or hit multiple enemies.[13]
As seen with John, if hit with bright or loud attacks, such as a "flashbang", this will temporarily stun uses of the ability due to their enhanced senses. This includes making their ears and eyes bleed with temporary nausea from their heads spinning which will go away with time. Chapter 358.
