Particles is an extremely versatile ability with which a user can form any desired shape using countless bits of energy.

Description

At its most basic, a user of Particles can emanate hundreds of energy embers. These flecks can then be used as building blocks to produce a much larger shape, be it a weapon or a body part. The Particles have mass, and as such are subject to laws of physics. Creations made from these tiny bits act like the real thing. [1]

Usage

  • Particle Generation: The user is able to generate particles that can be manipulated by their desire.
    • Particle Manipulation: The user can manipulate the particles to form objects or interact with their surroundings. Kassandra has been seen using her particles to create stakes, arrows and even a gigantic hand. She is also seen moving objects with her particles.
    • Tracking: Particles can spread in a specific area, this allows the user to detect when someone else is nearby which is perfect for detecting hiding places and avoiding surprise attacks.

Strengths and Limitations

Particles has the advantage of strength in numbers, and solid objects can be forms by bunching up enough dots. When wielded by a higher-tier user, any offense-based creations hit extremely hard. A Barrier thrown up by Arlo, a high-tier himself, only barely managed to withstand a full force attack from a gigantic hand that Kassandra was able to leave a mark on a fortified floor with.

Kassandra also displayed the capability to animate and control several training dummies with Particles. So far, she was only seen making these lifeless figures stand upright.

It appears that it takes imagination, concentration, and perhaps even a keen artistic sense to unlock this ability's potential. Fully realized, a Particles user can replicate the effects of numerous combat-based abilities almost to the degree that Aura Manipulation users can (with the added bonus of not needing to sample someone else’s aura beforehand).

Notes & Trivia

Particles Buzzing

It's a wonder nobody reflexively swats them away.

  • It appears that Particles actually generate noise akin to a buzzing swarm of insects.
