Oliver is a resident of New Bostin, attending both the Middle School and High School there. He was a typical bully who enjoyed beating up those weaker than himself.

Appearance[]

Oliver is a student with purple hair and yellow eyes. He often wore shorts, and his shirts were varied in sleeve length. His ability is colored purple and yellow, matching his hair and eyes.

Personality[]

Oliver was a mid-tier bully, and he and his gang enjoyed tormenting weaker students together. He especially enjoyed insulting them for their powerlessness against him. Oliver did not adjust well to role-reversal, and held late-bloomers in contempt. When it came to mockery, he didn't know when to quit, and his penchant for shooting his mouth off became hazardous to his health.

History[]

Corruption[]

John vs

Oliver and his two friends were bullies in New Bostin Middle School. Among their favorite targets were the school cripple, John. They relentlessly mocked him for not having an ability by that point in his life.[1] John was often in the company of two other low-tiers, Adrion and Claire, so Oliver and Co. beat them up as well. One day, near the end of their final year of middle school, both trios were in conflict once again. As per usual, Oliver mocked John for his unwillingness to back down despite his lack of an ability. Oliver decided to add further injury to insult by showing off his own ability by using it to attack John. Before he could fire, however, John suddenly became aware of something regarding Oliver's ability. To their mutual surprise, John held up his own hand and produced a small ray not unlike Oliver's. Angered by this act, Oliver punched John to the ground and demanded that John never forget his place. His friend calmed him down and suggested they were better off leaving John and his friends to feel sorry for themselves. The bullies departed, unaware of what their old victim would have in store for them later on.[2]

John's Payback

Consider yourself part of the furniture.

Oliver had graduated his town's Middle School and entered the local High School, a much more aggressive environment. And one of the most aggressive students was John, who was also attending. It turned out that what John demonstrated that fateful day was Aura Manipulation, the powerful latent ability of the late-bloomer. John and his friends figured out how it worked in the interim between Middle and High School, and wasted no time strengthening it by fighting with other students, including his own former bully, Oliver. It became clear during one of their fights that the tables have turned, and John easily knocked down his old tormentor.

Unordinary John Kicks Oliver

A lesson in school savoir-faire.

Angry and confused, Oliver demanded to know how John obtained his ability, to the latter's amusement. John's newfound superiority complex didn't sit well with Oliver, who called him a fraud. John was about to lash out at him for his tone, but Claire managed to calm him down and began to lead him away. Still sore about the new reality, Oliver exclaimed that he would always see John as a cripple, no matter how strong he became. This proved to be a grievous error, as John immediately doubled back and furiously beat the downed Oliver, to Claire's horror. Oliver's beating only ended when a teacher overheard the commotion and stepped in. But this would not be the last violent incident involving John in New Bostin.[3]

Present Day[]

It is not known what became of Oliver following John's expulsion. However, John remained haunted by their shared history. The impact Oliver's bullying had on John was so profound that he suffered from both nightmares at home and flashbacks in the middle of class.[4][5]

Powers & Abilities[]

Oliver Activates Ability

Why should I worry? Why should I care?

Catalyst Ray: Oliver possesses a Projectile Generation ability. It was described by Claire as a form of ray, and appears to be functionally similar to Lazor. Oliver has only been shown preparing to fire, and John hadn't yet fully grasped the basics of both this ability and Aura Manipulation, so any differences to other abilities of this type are not yet known.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • Oliver's earliest appearance featured only his voice, as well as those of his cohorts. Curiously, the blue color his speech wouldn't become the color of his hair, as is the standard of unORDINARY. Instead, it became the color of the shirt he was wearing at the time.
