Minefield is an extremely versatile and powerful ability that allows its user to create their own battlefield.
Description
Minefield allows its user to create an impromptu arena, which manifests as an invisible cage. The user is able to detect and track anybody within it.
As the name clearly indicates, the main feature of Minefield is to detonate any part of the arena’s floor.
Usage

- Domain Capture: A fundamental aspect of Minefield is for a user to envelope a given area with a special sensory grid through which other facets of the ability may be exercised.
- Sensing: The user is able to sense anybody who enters their perimeter, even if their ability is not active.
- Level Gauging: When sensing someone, the user is able to tell how powerful they are.[1]
- Enhanced Strength: The user shows enough strength to lift a human body.[2][3]
- Mine: Users are, within range, able to set off devastating explosions from below.
Strengths and Weaknesses
The means to monitor and control the field of battle by forcing enemies to carefully consider their movements is a clear advantage. Minefield users can sense any activity within their grid, as well as what sort of threat others may pose. Keene himself is capable of affecting an area as big as Wellston Private High School. It has been shown that the cage can be transported, as Keene managed to initiate a battle while driving.
The main offensive capabilities, the exploding mines, are nothing to sneeze at. They are powerful enough to launch police cars into the air. Getting caught in the blast is a surefire way to take the fight out someone, assuming they even survive. Users don't seem to be in any danger of their own mines, seeing as how Keene actually pinned down an officer right where he initiated an explosion.
On top of all this, a user can get physical in a fight. They can strike, evade, and lead unwary opponents right into mines.
However, it is not impossible to mount counteroffensive against a user in their own domain. Powerful opponents can muster enough energy to avoid the traps that come with the impromptu arena. The mines themselves, lethal as they are, are restricted to the ground. Enemies that can battle whilst airborne can hold their own long enough. The explosions themselves can be neutralized with an ability that can be sent underground, such as Botanist.
Finally, area control is not a skill exclusive to Minefield. Users may find themselves at an impasse against abilities like Particles, a ranged and versatile ability with similar advantages.
