Professionally, Marisol is a reserved woman, diligent in her duties and courteous to guests. But between herself and the Mister, she does tend to overstep certain boundaries. Everything she does out of loyalty and concern for his well-being, though he's not the most understanding boss.
Plot[]
Marisol had served Cameron for a long while. In that time, he had rarely left the abode, and spent most of his time laser-focused on work.
One day, the house got a visit from William H. Doe, the powerless man who married Cameron's sister, Jane. Marisol greeted him at the door, warning him that her employer didn't want to see anybody. But William was insistent, and Cameron had been cooped up for far too long. So she escorted him inside while she went to get the Mister. As she probably expected, he was angry with her actions, with little regard for her motivations. She stood by while William pleaded for Cameron's help in rescuing Jane, which was dismissed as ludicrous. William was about to present proof of his claims, but Marisol was ordered to kick him out. Without being given a chance to convince Cameron otherwise, she warned their unwelcome visitor that he'd be kicked out by the head of house himself if he didn't leave. William reluctantly obliged, but left behind his so-called proof for Cameron to see later. Marisol asked the Mister if he had any interest in perusing the papers, but was tasked with destroying it all. She was about to do so, but saw that the photographs did indeed depict Jane in a sorry-looking state![1] Knowing that it was likely in Cameron's best interests to see for himself, she left the papers in his study.
Ages passed before the matter resurfaced. Marisol was vacuuming when she heard the bellowing of her employer. She rushed to his study at once, and he chewed her out for not doing as she was told. She noted in silent disbelief on how long it took him to even notice what she had done before trying to explain herself. Cameron went about saying that she wasn't to make any decisions that went against his wishes, so she apologetically offered to set things right. But it seemed that the sight of the pictures forced Cameron to reconsider after all. As he tried to dial up William, Marisol watched and inquired about his efforts. It seemed that his brother-in-law couldn't be reached.[2]
Some time has passed before Marisol had to prepare the house to welcome its guest. This time, the visitor is a young woman, Seraphina. She was there to visit John, Cameron's nephew, who barely survived the ambush at their school and being treated by the man. Seraphina nagged about Cameron's drinking habit, something Marisol had done for years. She noticed her master being defensive after his guest insinuated he drowned himself in alcohol to run away from his problem. She prevented Cameron from interrupting an emotional moment between his nephew and the visitor.[3]
Relationships[]
Cameron: As Marisol's boss, Cameron is tough and uncompromising. Marisol is less-than-thrilled at his stubbornness at times. Despite such cold treatment, she remains loyal to him. She disobeys certain instructions if she feels it's best for him.
William: Marisol is familiar with William and how the family disdains him. She does not appear to share the contempt, though she does try to be firm about William not agitating Cameron with his presence. She is at the very least willing to hear him out.
Jane: Whether or not the two ever interacted before, Marisol recognizes Jane on sight, and is fully aware that the inconceivable image of her looking helpless and morose is cause for alarm.
John:
