Plot[]
History[]
Lennon somehow managed to acquire several vials of the Ability-Enhancing Drug, which weren't being distributed to elite-tiers like himself. He used the drug to elevate himself to high-tier status, and chose to terrorize the Grasshill district's populace with his newfound power.[1] The town's strongest residents banded together to try and fend him off. But no matter how many times they fought him off, he would return another night. It is implied that he struck down several resistance members as time went on.[2] When Lennon's own strength wasn't enough, he had backup from a cohort named Raddix, with whom he shared some of his enhancers with. Raddix used a projectile ability to serve as a sniper from atop Grasshill's roofs.[3]
Safe House[]
Lennon's crimes of robbery and destruction of property made him a wanted man. But nothing was done about him until a would-be crime fighter selected him to be his next target.[4]
Evolution[]
Lennon returned to Grasshill to cause more mayhem. He ran into the resistance, noticing that their numbers had dwindled considerably since he was last in town. He activated his ability, and used it to effortlessly beat back the resistance and block their counterattacks. When he had them on the ropes, he moved in to end their interference once and for all. It was at this moment that a beam of energy hit Lennon's arm through an opening in his defenses. The young vigilante who fired the shot then rushed in and unleashed a second burst of energy at him. Lennon's disks protected him from harm, but the force of the attack blew him backwards. Angered by the interference, Lennon launched all of his disks at the resistance and their savior. The vigilante projected a powerful force that repelled the attack, which provided the resistance a chance retreat to fight another day. Furious at the delay in his tight schedule, Lennon vowed to kill the vigilante for ruining his plans.[2]
Though enraged, Lennon was not stupid. He saw that the vigilante he was up against was a bigger threat than the whole resistance. Thus, he began utilizing two of his disks for constant defence while continuing to attack with the other three. The vigilante was forced to evade his onslaught, to the immense delight of Lennon. The smug grin on his face provoked the vigilante into firing twin beams from his palms. Lennon was able to feel the power behind these attacks even as his defensive disks withstood them. Eventually, the vigilante began to utilize strategies of his own. After Lennon finished up another wave of attacks, the vigilante obscured his vision before vaulting over the defensive disks and charging an attack that targeted him from behind. Lennon barely managed to turn around in time to block the beam. His defensive disks were cracked as a result of attack, but were still good to go.
Lennon decided to take to the air by using one of his disks as a hoverboard before resuming his attack. The vigilante was beginning to tire out, so Lennon began fighting more aggressively. Lennon was met with another feint attack from his opponent, but he was better prepared. Two more of his disks were cracked, but Lennon was bragging once more as soon as Raddix began laying cover fire. The vigilante tried to retreat, but Raddix managed to thwart his escape with a well-placed arrow. Lennon began to monologue about how the interloper would die in agony before launching his disks for what was supposed to be the final time. But once again, someone interfered with his murder attempt. An older vigilante came out of nowhere and used a sword made of energy to shatter three of his disks.[3]
The outraged Lennon demanded to know who dared to interfere this time. The newcomer only introduced himself as the youngster's backup. With the plans he had for that night utterly ruined, Lennon swore he would kill both vigilantes. He conjured new disks to replace the shattered ones and began his offensive anew. Ponytail moved in to engage him, Raddix kept him at bay with another arrow. Lennon boasted that the vigilantes stood no chance. As things stood, the vigilantes agreed. Thus, they decided to split up, and the younger vigilante began heading for the rooftops to take Lennon's backup out of commission. Lennon tried to stop him with one of his disks, but Ponytail made it clear who the more pressing problem was.
Forced to fight one-on-one, Lennon was on the defensive once more. He saw fit to point out that his disks were standing up to his opponent's sword strikes much better than before. As if to concur, Ponytail summoned a second sword, and delivered two simultaneous strikes that damaged Lennon's disks. When asked if he liked the new challenge, the provoked Lennon tried to attack Ponytail with two offensive disks. The vigilante simply shattered one and vaulted off of the other to deliver an overhead strike that destroyed the one disk Lennon used to defend himself. Thinking that this stranger was unreal, Lennon forced him back with another disk attack and rose high into the air on his hoverdisk. Believing himself beyond the reach of the vigilante, Lennon bragged that he couldn't be beaten from above. He was immediately proven wrong when Ponytail summoned four energy daggers and flung them like throwing knives. Lennon finally realized that this vigilante was more than a match for him and decided to get out of there, find Raddix, and retreat.
He found his partner-in-crime on a rooftop, knocked out by the first interloper. Deciding that he would have the satisfaction of killing at least one person that night, Lennon put everything he had into attacking the teenager. To his fury, the kid remained persistent, though unable to muster the strength to damage his remaining disks. Suddenly, Ponytail leapt up from behind Lennon. Barely able to register that his enemy managed to get the jump on him, Lennon was finally taken down with a sword slash to his unguarded rear.[5] Unconscious at last, Lennon's remaining vials of enhancers were confiscated and smashed.[1]
Tyrants[]
The events of that night ended up on the news, and but Lennon's defeat was omitted from the broadcast. Instead the report painted the vigilantes as near-victims, as per the norm.[6]
Hardline[]
Lennon is not seen again, but Kuyo states that he is still terrorising Grasshill as if there was no encounter between him and the two vigilantes [7].
Powers & Abilities[]
Conjure: Disks: Lennon is capable of manipulating large flying disks. Under the influence of the amplifiers, Lennon was able to generate 5 of these disks at once. These disks can move quickly, and are capable of attacking opponents, defending its user, and serving as hoverboards. Lennon was able to use them to levitate to the top of a building. The disks remain effective even after being cracked by powerful attacks. The effectiveness of this ability at base power remains unknown, but an elite-tier presumably remains formidable.
Trivia[]
- Kuyo noted that it was unusual for EMBER to provide someone as powerful as Lennon with amplifiers.
