UnOrdinary Wikia

Lance is a criminal and minor antagonist of unORDINARY who operates in Newside.

Personality[]

Much like the criminal Waldo, Lance is a dictatorial and immoral individual who takes great enjoyment in overpowering those weaker than he is and takes no issues with killing others to further his own goals. He is arrogant to a fault as shown when he underestimated Blyke and carries himself with a high degree of self confidence, but has no qualms cowering in fear once he is defeated.

Plot[]

Responsibility[]

Blyke discovered Lance's existence on the internet and was chosen to be Blyke's first criminal.[1] Upon discovering the criminal's location in Newside, Blyke discovers Lance harassing a woman named Amora. Lance reveals that he was not a native to Newside, rather, he moved into the low-tier district in hopes to take over the area without alerting the Authorities. Upon revealing this information to Amora, the criminal then attempted to command Amora to have Newside's administration surrender the town over to him, a demand that Amora vehemently refused to comply to. [2]

Before Lance was able to harass Amora further, Blyke shot the criminal with a well-placed Energy Beam before landing a kick on Lance's face. Though dazed from ambush, Lance recognized Blyke as a vigilante and gloated that vigilantes tend to have a high mortality rate. The criminal called his numerous goons to attack and overwhelm Blyke, while Amora ran away to avoid getting hit in the crossfire. Blyke proved able to hold his own against the overwhelming odds, forcing Lance to intervene with his Tremor ability. With the ground shaking beneath his feet, Blyke was unable to keep his focus and had difficulties aiming properly at the oncoming attacks; he was soon overwhelmed, prompting Lance to call Blyke weak and gives the order to kill the vigilante.[2]

However, Lance's insult filled Blyke with renewed vigor, and the vigilante easily disarmed the rest of Lance's underlings. Despite Lance's attempt to disorientate Blyke further with his tremors, Blyke was able to maintain his focus and gain the upper hand against the criminal. Without his goons backing him, Lance was easily defeated and was unable to retaliate once he was downed. Backed into a corner, Lance attempted to play off his orders to "kill [Blyke]" in hopes to be spared, but Blyke had no intention of taking anyone's life. Instead, Blyke opted to shoot Lance's legs, rendering his ability to walk completely moot.[3] Presumably, Lance and his underlings were apprehended by Newside authorities.

Powers & Abilities[]

Tremor: Lance possesses the ability Tremor, a unique superpower that allows him to create localized earthquakes beneath his feet and manipulate the magnitude of said quakes at will. Not only are these quakes strong enough to crack the ground under his feet, but they are also strong enough to make nearby buildings appear as if they are shaking. Lance appears to have some degree of directional control over the tremors he creates as he is able to direct the quakes to solely affect Blyke.

Trivia[]

  • Lance is one of the strongest mid-tiers, currently second to Merin.
  • Unlike Waldo, Alana and Lennon, Lance did not use amplifiers. Making him the only criminal introduced so far to not be enhanced through the amplifiers.
