With the intention of tearing down the hierarchy, the mysterious and violent Joker makes his presence known in Wellston Private High School defeating the school's strongest students left and right. With Isen, Blyke, and Cecile defeated, the school's queen, Remi must unmask this mysterious attacker and stop his rampage for good.
As Darren looks forward to a reunion with Leilah, Arlo asks John for a word in private. The two Kings argue over the recent actions they've taken against each other. Arlo criticizes John for his latest vicious attack against Isen. John shoots back that it was Arlo who insisted that he fix his own problems. Arlo retorts that John's meant to take a role of responsibility within the hierarchy, while John views the system as an oppressive tool that's torturing him and Seraphina. Failing to reconcile their differences, the debate ends with John vowing to destroy the hierarchy.
Remi and Blyke begin investigating the activities of the masked student, which leads them to a battered Abel on the school's rooftop. He tells them of how the student somehow copied his ability the moment it was active. Though this development is alarming, Blyke is determined to unmask this troublemaker, and tells John as much. For obvious reasons, John pays him no mind, and instead focuses on keeping Seraphina's spirits up. The two friends find that Cecile is uncharacteristically pitching in to keep trouble away from them.
Seraphina formally gets acquainted with her classmate Evie, who Arlo informed her was instrumental to her rescue. Meanwhile, John reaches out to Cecile. Though he wasn't actually interested in any alliances, her persistence convinces him that teaming up could be beneficial. Later, Keon and Nadia return to Wellston High to interview John.
John reunites with Keon, who is very keen to see the progress of his star pupil. He also interrogates John about Unordinary. Despite threats of relapsing in front of his tormentor, John barely manages to squeak through the interview.
Keon requests to Vaughn for John to re-attend the readjustment classes as well as given a suspension. Refusing to be ordered around, the headmaster rejects his orders. Elsewhere, Seraphina pleads with John to allow her help with his problems, which he rebukes.
At a cold night outside the dorm, Arlo imparts to Blyke his wisdom and advice regarding the succession of his King title, by reminiscing the redhead and Isen's first encounter with him. He believes the Jack has what it takes to inherit his position and the responsibilities that follow.
The masked menace makes his move on Blyke. Witnessed by students, they fight in the courtyard. Blyke tries to battle the mysterious fellow without using his ability, but his opponent's well-versed hand-to-hand combat skills forces him to activate Energy Beam. To his horror, the foe copies and amplifies it against him.
Remi and Isen visit the defeated Blyke. Realizing they are no match against this masked enemy (now dubbed as the Joker), the trio scheme a way for them to beat him. Meanwhile on the rooftop, Isen finally discloses the information he's withholding from Arlo, to the latter's chagrin.
Seraphina and Evie bail Roland out of the clutch of Clio, combining Evie's ability and Seraphina's martial arts. Elsewhere, John and Cecile plan his next target... her.
Blyke airs his frustration at losing against Joker to John, who acts indifferent to it. The latter then has his customary boba outing with Seraphina, when both of them talk about her recent injuries and his powerlessness at preventing it from happening.
