This is the twenty-seventh story arc of unORDINARY and the tenth arc of Season 2. It began with Chapter 245 and ended with Chapter 264.
Summary[]
Spectre has plans for the Safe House field trip to Rowden, which Seraphina and Arlo expect include dreadful things for their friends. The duo try to come up with a plan to protect the club's vulnerable members, but Terrence and his allies are well-accustomed to keeping on schedule regardless of contingencies. Seraphina may not be able to stay within the fold of the organization while also keeping her friends out of harm's way. John arriving uninvited certainly complicates matters for everyone. His loyalty to his best friend is unquestionable, but will his presence be enough to turn the tide in her favor?
Seraphina has nightmares about John being hurt. John reaches the Rowden resort. Sera tries to convince him to leave the next day. For that night, Remi gave John the same room as Blyke, Isen and Arlo.
The four decides on which bed as there are only two beds. Next day morning, after Blyke and Isen left, Arlo tells John everything. Arlo tells him that it's his choice to stay or not. Then they both show up in front of Sera's room.
John convinced Sera to let him help. Arlo and Sera made it seem like John left although he haven't. John wore his great disguise again and he went to the same amusement park as the others. Arlo and John kept in touch through the phone.
Terrence calls someone and tells them about John's arrival. Sera questioned John's U-Mart cap disguise and took it away. John tells Sera to chill out and they hang out for a while. John gets scolded by Arlo for not responding to his calls. Terrence and Sera talks and he tells her that they are not enemies.
Sera wonders if she is thinking too much into this. She tells John to stick with the others for his safety. Blyke is furious and walks away. John and Blyke was in the middle of the talk when they hear from Dylan about the Rowden royals creating a fight. Blyke steps up to stop them.
Blyke easily beats Rowden's King. Theotherroyals join the fight. John gives off tips to Blyke but doesn't fight because he fears that he would lose control. They target John and Blyke protects him asking him why he won't fight back. It's not until they hurt Blyke that John activates his ability, heals Blyke and joins the fight.
Arlo, Isen and Remi hears about the fight and goes there. John beats all of them with ease. The Rowden Royals talks sh*t about Wellston and it's hierarchy. John loses control. Arlo stopped him and John realized what happened. Blyke notices John panicking. A security calls Blyke and John.
John and Blyke are cuffed and John gets PTSD from the cuff. They both have a talk. After they are released, Isen shares about how Arlo and Sera convinced the students to let John stay. They go back to the resort and the students started to accept John more.
Seraphina tells John that if he intends to help her, then he cannot do it halfway. John in turn asks why they should bother with all the Spectre business in the first place. So she takes him aside and tells him that from what she heard, fighting the organization's corruption from within was the best way to turn it into something that could make their mutual dream of societal reform come true. Seraphina then gets called away for a briefing.
Some Safe House students gather around to swap scary stories. John wishes he didn't overhear the one told by Evie. Meanwhile, Agent Rowden tells Seraphina that she's set to go on a mission the next morning. Her assignment: acquire intelligence on "conversion technology".
Seraphina begins her infiltration into NXGen. Arlo and John are dismayed to learn of the Safe House' plan to split up. John tries to contact Seraphina, but she doesn't pick up, being busy with the mission. John and Arlo decide that one of them will go with each group of the Safe House. Seraphina successfully infiltrates the room she was told to, and begins to steal data. John can't help but feel that something is wrong.
As Arlo and John continue their uncomfortable watch over their groups, Seraphina does some extracurricular research on the data that Spectre wants so badly. Most fascinating is a certain enigmatic subject known as "Patient Jane". After the mission goes into the next phase, something goes horribly wrong.
Seraphina's ability begins petering out at the worst possible moment. She barely manages to grab what she came for and make her way past security. The team telepath leads her to the exit, but soon Seraphina finds out the whole team had been leading her on. Too late she learns that Safe House has been split up, and that the hiking group can't call out for help.
John must convince Blyke and the others that Terrence means them all harm, but his record is against him. With a little back-up from Isen, John manages to convince the club head that he's warning them all on Seraphina's behalf. But the trap is sprung too quickly for them to escape.
Terrence is loose and the club's protectors are in no shape to go after him. They've got their hands full as it is trying to put aside old grudges long enough to lead their schoolmates down the mountain while dampened. As the strongest member of the group, John must use all the power he has left to honor his promise to Seraphina and defend the party (and himself) from Spectre.
Seraphina drives to the Safe House location, while one of the agents she beat up stirs awake and reports to their superior about this turn of event. Meanwhile, stuck in a traffic, Remi takes matter - and Arlo - into her own hands. Elsewhere, the club and its protectors were pinned down by Terrence and his goons.
Remi and Arlo join the fight a bit away from the rest as they get affected by the dampener. Isen, Blyke and John try to fight Spectre off but in vain. Arlo starts losing consciousness due to a mysterious ability. John is furious at Spectre for taking advantage of a school trip.
John, Blyke and Isen try to fight them off but they just keep on coming. Arlo faints completely but Remi electrocutes him back to consciousness. Seraphina joins Arlo and Remi. John messes everyone up with the help of the other two.
The fight continues as John, Blyke and Isen now also have to deal with their attackers turning invisible, courtesy of their old friend. Something big is about to happen...
John got himself injected by the disabler, but continues to fight Terrence. Not far away, the expiration of the dampener lead to Blyke and Isen launching counterattack against their attackers. Seraphina, Arlo, and Remi finally arrive at the scene of the crime.
