Farrah is a member of the Authorities who was selected to join the ranks of their illicit EMBER organization, under the codename "Fury". Like others in this branch of government, she has been granted unnatural advantages in order to help oversee a major subversive experiment.

Appearance

Farrah has green hair tied in a ponytail. She has reddish-orange eyes which have narrow slit-like pupils.

Her Fury guise consists of the standard EMBER uniform of a black hat and trenchcoat worn in conjunction with a mask and high heel boots. She braids her ponytail when incognito.

Personality

Farrah is, at her core, a killer. The smile seen underneath her mask says everything about how much she enjoys the chance to rip apart her enemies. She has a habit of making condescending remarks in response to any heroic nonsense.

However, she is fully aware of EMBER's main priorities. She does not sacrifice any of the organization's vital assets for the sake of her own bloodlust. That said, she does try to find ways to "have her cake and eat it too".

History

The Authorities appointed a select group of its employees to its EMBER program, Farrah included.[1] Like others in these ranks, she was subjected to the process of Conversion Technology and successfully acquired new abilities in addition to her own. Farrah was then assigned the codename of "Fury", and used her new alias to sell EMBER's experimental Ability Amplifier to criminals and monitor the resulting chaos. When vigilantes started nosing around in their business, Fury and her comrades were also tasked with eliminating them. As far as the public knew, there was no connection between the terrorists and the government.

Plot

Hardline

Fury went along as backup while Brims made a standard milk run in Lovun Town.[2] The sale went awry, as their overreaching buyer and his friends got killed trying to extract the amplifier's properties from Brims. Things didn't end there though, as vigilantes happened to be in the neighborhood.[1] Brims was overwhelmed by the efforts of X-Rei and Ponytail. But their allies on the rooftops were easy prey for Fury. She snuck up behind Nobody and his orange-haired friend and rushed at them with the intent to end their lives. Her presence was detected, and they futilely attempted to evade. Her burning slashes managed to inflict grievous wounds on them both.[2] When Nobody collapsed to the ground, Fury pinned him by stomping down hard on his back before turning to the one who was still standing. She admitted that she was impressed that they managed to survive the assault. Orange-hair demanded she let her captive go. Amused, she invited him to try and make her. He responded by striking the ground, shaking her up a bit. Fury wasn't disoriented for long, and she grabbed the teenager as he tried to rush in and pull his friend out from under her. She commended his efforts while putting him in a painfully hot armlock. With both of them in her clutches, she revealed herself to the street-level combatants.

Fury may have had her flaming claws at the throat of one captive, but Ponytail held a sword pressed against Brims's face in one hand and a phone in the other. Clearly, the events of the evening were recorded on it. Ponytail made it clear that if she did any further harm to his allies, then her partner's life was forfeit. He suspected that even she wouldn't cast aside one of the government's most experienced veterans. But Fury wanted the destruction of the phone as well. Ponytail wasn't in the mood to haggle, but Fury put on enough pressure for X-Rei to fry the phone to save her friends' lives. With anonymity apparently secured, she shoved both boys off the roof. With X-Rei predictably rushing over to catch them, Fury leapt from the roof and slashed her as well. Before she could kill her, Ponytail intervened and drove her away. Fury was agitated by their continued survival, but she soon noticed she had bigger problems. Brims had been impaled with the sword, a wound Ponytail assured would be fatal if it wasn't tended to at once. It was proposed that both sides call a truce in order to tend to their wounded, since the swords pinning Brims down would disappear after a great distance was put between them. Fury entertained the possibility getting the same results by killing Ponytail, but was told that course of action would take to long. Resentfully, she told her enemies get out of her sight.[3]

And so, Farrah had Byron admitted to Wellston Hospital. She gave a full report of the incident to Valerie.[4]
