Do you really think they won't notice while all this is eating you up inside?

- Seraphina

This is the 364th episode of unORDINARY.

Synopsis[]

Farrah visits Tarik in the hospital and brings him some food. He reveals that the doctors couldn’t fix his left eye, making his ability only half as effective and robbing him of his qualifications to be Lovun Prison’s warden, prompting the higher-ups to ask him to resign. Tarik admits he doesn’t blame them and laments being outmaneuvered by mere high schoolers, but Farrah points out that dismissing them as nothing more that was what led to his defeat, admitting that the Bureau has underestimated them more than once, but that they are actually some of the strongest ability users of their generation. Tarik notes the advice, though no longer sees any need of it after the loss of his position. Seeing his frustration, Farrah offers him an opportunity to take an experimental position which will allow him to remain powerful, restore justice, and get a chance at retribution, and Tarik responds with interest.

In Beatrice’s apartment in Branish, Blyke is in the bathroom drying off in the mirror when John walks in to use the shower. Noticing Blyke’s distant behavior, he asks to talk and confirms his suspicions that Blyke had his memories used against him by Keon. John explains that Keon uses a person’s past against them to turn them against themselves and everyone around them, but while Blyke knows that what he’s thinking isn’t real, he can barely stand John’s presence and walks away. Furious at Keon for what he did to him and Blyke, John tells Seraphina about what happened, but doesn’t want to push Blyke and risk making his condition worse.

After asking Remi & Isen where he went, Sera finds Blyke on the roof and, after she notices that he seems unaffected by her presence, sits down next to him. He correctly guesses that John talked to her and she tells him that they’re worried about him. She convinces him to get what’s weighing on him off his chest, and he admits that after what Keon did, he keeps getting flashbacks whenever he sees Remi, Isen, or John, along with an intense anger. He says he doesn’t want to tell Remi or Isen about it because he knows they blame themselves for his capture and doesn’t want to make them feel worse. He feels like his thoughts aren’t his own and that he’s a failure for being unable to control it. Sera acknowledges that it will hurt Remi and Isen to hear how Blyke feels, but that they’ll understand it, and explains that when John was done with his readjustment classes, he didn’t talk about it and instead internalized everything, eventually becoming self-hating and self-destructive, and Sera felt pained not being able to help him while he suffered alone. She points out that Remi and Isen will probably notice that something is eating him up, and says that while the flashbacks and nightmares won’t go away anytime soon, hiding it will only make it worse, while Blyke contemplates her advice.
