I didn't expect your friends here so soon!

- Beatrice

This is the 355th episode of unORDINARY.

Synopsis[]

Having just received a heads up text, Remi, Isen, and Kuyo venture up to the roof of Beatrice’s apartment building in Branish, where they find John & Seraphina waiting for them. Remi greets Sera with a hug, and is happy that John made a full recovery. He notices Kuyo, who greets them both. Seraphina thanks him for saving them, and Kuyo says he just hopes they’ll do better in the next fight, irking John. Remi defuses the tension and invites them inside, where Beatrice is surprised to see Remi’s friends have arrived so soon, though is slightly intimidated by them. She goes to get them blankets, and John asks if she can be trusted, which both Remi and Isen confirm, as she gave them shelter when they had nowhere else to go.

The group then discusses their mission, and Seraphina says that Arlo wasn’t arrested, but they don’t know anything else, including his whereabouts or the Bureau’s plans for him. However, they do know Blyke is being held in the nearby Lovun Prison, which is why John & Sera decided to stay with the others beforehand. Sera unveils a map of the prison provided by Spectre; Isen is impressed by Spectre’s access, but Kuyo worries the map may not be accurate. Sera states that Spectre has broken in before, but that security has increased since then, so caution will be key. Unfortunately, they don’t know which cell Blyke is in, so they’ll have to stop by the main office and search the prison’s records to find which cell he’s in. Isen also points out the problem of security cameras, and John admits that they’ll have to split up between retrieving Blyke and monitoring the cams, and they’ll also need to know their exits and plan escape routes in the event something goes sideways, so they need to study the map over the next few days.

Later that evening, after Beatrice provides blankets for Sera & Remi, the two of them get ready for bed. Noticing Remi has cuts on her hands, dark circles under her eyes, and an unwashed sweatshirt, Sera expresses worry that Remi’s letting herself fall apart. Remi admits that it’s been hard knowing that Blyke has been suffering, but Sera encourages her not to punish herself, and that she can’t look after anyone else if she’s running on empty. She tells Remi to go take a hot shower and that they can catch up when she gets back.

In the kitchen, Isen tells John that while they’ve never been close, he’s glad that John is here. John responds that he wouldn’t be here if they hadn’t saved his life, and Isen says he can’t believe John is jumping right back into the fight after dodging death. He asks if John is confident they can pull it off, and John says that he’s not, but doesn’t know what else to do; with the Authorities closing in, they can’t let themselves be picked off, and they have to send a message by proving they can fight back. Isen remarks that John sounds just like Blyke, and wonders how both of them can be so headstrong in the face of overwhelming odds. John asks why Isen is joining if he’s so afraid of dying, and Isen admits that he and Remi are broken without Blyke. Having been forced to make a split second decision to leave him behind, they haven’t been able to stop thinking about him, and it would be wrong to just move on without him after all they’ve been through. John says that there’s no use in stressing when the Bureau has already taken everything from them, and all they can do is take it back one piece at a time, starting with Blyke.

At Lovun Prison, Keon has just concluded another session with Blyke, and tells him to consider the offer the Bureau has made, and that there’s still a way out for him.
