This is the 348th episode of unORDINARY and the second episode of Season 3.
Synopsis[]
Having snuck out of Cameron’s house at night, John meets Seraphina in a nearby alleyway. Sera says that the car she’s brought is a company car borrowed from Leilah, and that the drive will be a couple of hours. On the way there, Sera reveals that she now works full time for ZetaSci, one of Spectre’s shell companies, but that she still hasn’t seen Neil, let alone met him in person. She explains that they’ve only had brief phone conversations, and that he seems decent, but doesn’t appear to fully trust her and has kept ignoring her requests; however, he has agreed to a meeting today, knowing he can’t avoid Sera forever. Sera believes John’s presence will make it more difficult for Neil to refuse them. On the way, John offers to drive so Sera to get some sleep, but after narrowly avoiding an accident, Sera takes the wheel back.
After arriving in the morning, Sera goes to wake John up, noticing that he’s still having nightmares. He wakes up and remembers the meeting, and Sera asks him if he packed formal wear; John answers that he stole some from “the old man.” Inside, John and Sera find a private room and have a video call with Neil, but he still hides his face from them and only gives them 15 minutes. Sera tells Neil that two potential assets for Spectre are being held by the Authorities; when Neil asks their plan, Sera says that first they’ll need access to Spectre’s database to find where they’re being held, and that once they have that, they’ll take 6 operatives to assist from the outside, use the dampener to weaken the area, and infiltrate the facility with their own team, getting out fast. However, Neil refuses to risk his people for this mission or use the dampener in that manner. John points out that Orrin did, and Neil responds that as a result, he was defeated by the Authorities and has gone underground, his recklessness having cost Spectre a third of its power and made the Authorities aware of its existence. Determined not to leave empty-handed, John says that the dampener and Neil’s men aren’t necessary, and that if Neil gives them the location where Blyke & Arlo are being held and plans for the building, he and Sera will handle the rest. Neil asks what happens if they fail and get captured, and Sera points out that in that event, all Neil will have lost is a pair of new recruits and that the information they have on Spectre is nothing Orrin hasn’t already exposed to the Bureau, but that he stands to gain two more valuable allies if the mission succeeds. Persuaded, Neil agrees to grant their request, asking them to be careful. After getting back to the car, Sera texts a coded message to Remi, who is excited to proceed.
In the Bureau, Grayson is sitting in an interrogation room, accompanied by a woman with the same hair color as him. Keon joins them and tells the nervous Grayson that he has some questions to ask about his vigilante friends: Remi, Isen, and Kuyo.
