This is the 347th episode of unORDINARY and the first episode of Season 3.
Synopsis[]
Keon arrives at the Bureau for a meeting with Emmit and Jude. Upon entering, he bows to Emmit out of respect, and Emmit greets Keon warmly, allowing him to address him by name. He commends Keon for his work as a readjustment instructor and for initiating the Bureau’s investigation of Spectre, and thanks him for his services. He informs Keon that he has been granted clearance to begin working on the Wellston students, and that while they are young, they are hardened criminals, so they shouldn’t be shown too much sympathy, which Keon agrees with. After Keon leaves, Jude stands and states to Emmit that the two captives from Wellston pose a too great risk to EMBER to allow them to run free, and Emmit agrees, stating that if the Bureau can’t convert them, they will be executed.
At Lovun Prison, Keon is digging through Blyke’s memories. He sees flashbacks to Blyke’s first vigilante outing with Remi & Isen, their encounters with Volcan & Brims, the beatdowns he suffered at John’s hands and his past expression of hatred for John, his fight with Lennon and first meeting with Kuyo, his discovery of the amps, the opening of the Safe House, reading UnOrdinary, meeting Grayson, reaching out to Kassandra, and the raid at Wellston. Blyke’s mind begins fixating on his past hatred of John, seemingly blaming Remi & Isen for leaving him behind for John as a result of Keon’s ability. Furiously, Blyke yells at Keon to stay out of his personal memories, but Keon responds that a criminal like him has no right to issue demands. Blyke answers that Keon saw the answers he wanted, and that EMBER works for the Bureau and is circulating the amplifiers and murdering people to maintain their grip on power. Keon condescendingly declares that people like him, who wreak havoc wherever they go, can’t exist for this society to function properly. When Blyke dares Keon to tell him what’s wrong about helping those who need it, and Keon doesn’t answer, Blyke yells that he did nothing wrong, but Keon roughly slams Blyke’s face down onto the table to silence him.
In Branish, Kuyo, Remi, and Isen are hiding out in an apartment watching a newscaster detail the crimes allegedly committed by themselves, Blyke, John, and Seraphina. Kuyo comments that the coverage has been talking about them nonstop for 2 weeks since the Wellston raid, and Isen says the Bureau is taunting them by reminding them of Blyke’s capture. At that point, Beatrice, one of the people X-Rei saved in her first vigilante outing, returns home and greets them. Remi thanks her for letting them stay here and Beatrice says she recognized them from the news and said it was the least she could do after the favor they’d done the town by getting rid of Waldo, and that she didn’t mind Kuyo being so handsome. At that moment, Ian, still on crutches from being sniped in the legs by Blyke, loudly bangs on the door and demands that Beatrice answer, and the rest of them hide. When she answers, Ian demands that Beatrice hand over her weekly payment for Charlie. She admonishes him for selling out to the next Waldo after the town gave him another chance, but he grabs her by the collar and says he does what’s best for him, and that if she gives him any attitude again, he’ll kill her. Remi starts to move to intervene, but Kuyo stops her, and Ian leaves. Remi apologizes for not being able to do more, but Beatrice understands their hands are tied and that their company is enough. Remi’s phone beeps, and she reads a text from someone claiming to be about to stop by U-Mart to pick up some decorations.
At Cameron’s house, John recalls him and Sera discussing their first priority: rescuing Arlo & Blyke, which they’ll need help from Neil and Spectre to pull off. He speaks with Cameron and asks to leave to take care of some business with Sera, but Cameron reminds him that he’s an outlaw and his face is all over the news, so he can’t just go out in the open. John argues that the feds aren’t looking as closely where they are, but Cameron refuses to allow him to leave. John can’t bear to just sit around while the Bureau has his friends captive, but Cameron reminds him that while he and Sera may be powerful, they’re nothing compared to the Authorities, and asks if John even has a plan; when he doesn’t answer, Cameron says he’ll wait until the target is off his back. John points out that that’s exactly what Cameron did when Jane disappeared and William came to him, and it didn’t end well; nevertheless, Cameron forbids John from leaving the property without his permission. In the hallway, John accidentally bumps into Marisol, and apologizes before continuing on his way. Marisol smirks to herself, believing Cameron may have finally met his match.
That night, John sneaks out his bedroom window, jumping down from the second floor, tweaking his ankle in the process. He then jumps the fence and makes his way to an alley where a car is waiting for him, and Sera gets out and greets him.
