Synopsis[]

Despite Remi’s calls for them to jump, Arlo and Blyke cannot hear her; with Arlo’s Barrier shattered, Sylvia’s ability has suppressed their senses and increased their sensitivity to pain. Farrah’s Hypnosis also takes hold, and weakened by their injuries, both Arlo and Blyke quickly lose consciousness. Desperate to save them, Remi wants to go back, but Isen tells her that if they go back, they won’t stand a chance, and if they’re caught, it’s all over. Sorrowfully, Remi turns her anger on the remaining officers on the ground, clearing a path for her and Isen to reach the nearby police vehicles. Hijacking the first one they reach, they put the unconscious John in the back seat, and Isen drives off while Remi uses her Lightning to disable the other vehicles before they can begin a pursuit. Watching from above, Sylvia orders the others to give chase, but Farrah states that they’ll handle the rest, and that with Arlo and Blyke in custody, they should be able to track down the others without much trouble. Sylvia agrees to leave the rest to the Bureau, but also inquires about Farrah’s use of an ability aside from her natural Hypnosis. Farrah states that information is highly classified and she isn’t authorized to speak of it, and uses her Hypnosis to make the other Bureau officers forget what they’ve seen. Farrah then thanks Sylvia for her assistance and orders the officers to bring Arlo and Blyke into custody.

Later on, at Grayson’s apartment, Grayson expresses shock that the Bureau came for the vigilante group and that Blyke and Arlo were captured. Trying to be optimistic, he states that at least Remi and Isen are safe, but Isen states that none of them are out of the woods yet; the Bureau has officials who can read memories, and with Blyke in custody, their hideout at Grayson’s apartment is no longer safe, nor is Grayson himself. As Grayson wonders what to do, Kayden teleports into the apartment, having been called there by Kuyo. Noticing Remi and Isen’s saddened faces and Blyke’s absence, he asks Kuyo why he called him here, and Kuyo takes him to the side room where a critically injured John is laid up in a bed. Kuyo catches Kayden up on the day’s events, including John’s attempt to go down fighting in grief over his father’s murder. Kayden realizes that is what John wanted to talk to Seraphina about the last time they spoke. Kuyo states that while he’s stopped the bleeding, his vitals are in bad shape and he won’t survive without a powerful healer. However, Kayden is unable to take John to Darren, as he has been forced to flee the area and is too far away for Kayden to take John to in time. Kuyo states that a hospital isn’t an option, as the cops will be looking there, waiting to arrest them. Remi asks them to check John’s pockets, and they find a photo of John’s parents and Cameron’s business card. Kayden asks what an ability specialist is, and Remi states that Cameron is likely one of John’s relatives, and believes he can help.

Some time later, John comes to in an unfamiliar bedroom, shocked that he’s still alive, and wondering what’s happened and where he is.
