I look forward to the day the Bureau decides to shut him up for good.
- Zeke disparages W. H. Doe at the worst possible time
This is the 331st episode of unORDINARY.
Synopsis[]
John holds the vial he received from Doc via Kayden, which will return his ability level to full strength. He has a flashback to his memories of his reign of terror at New Bostin, but also remembers the words of encouragement he received from his loved ones, and reminds himself that he’s not that person anymore. Not having time to sit around sulking, John drinks the vial, vowing that the Bureau will pay for their unforgivable actions towards Sera, William, and Jane.
Later that night, John meets in his dorm with Remi, Blyke, and Isen, each of whom have read Unordinary and are ready to work on condensing the book to help spread it faster. Isen wants to shorten it to about 5 pages to make it easier to read, but John warns that if the wrong parts are removed, the story could lose too much impact. The group pulls an all-nighter, and during their work, John begins to experience the side-effects of Darren’s cure. They finish after sunrise, and ultimately go a little over 5 pages, but leave on a cliffhanger. With the hard part over, all that remains to be done is to make copies and hang them up around school. Suddenly, John collapses, breathing heavily. John feels like his whole body is on fire, and realizes that the cure is working. Blyke checks John’s forehead and says he has a fever, and the others convince him to leave the book’s distribution to them while he goes to sleep.
Later in the day, Blyke comes to check on John, telling him that school has already ended and giving him some fast food and water. John asks where Remi & Isen are, and Blyke tells him they stayed behind at school to post more fliers and that he’s about to go join them. He gives John his cell phone number before leaving, telling John to give him a call if he needs anything.
The next morning, John returns to school and is surprised to find that Untitled has caught on quickly among the student body. He soon comes across Zeke grabbing a flier out of another student’s hands; upon realizing what it is, he insults the author and declares his eagerness for the day the Bureau permanently silences him, unaware that William has already been killed and that John is listening to him disparage his dead father. He demands to know where the student found the flier, threatening to have him jailed, but Mardin alerts him to the presence of an already enraged John. Zeke rudely tells John off for defending the Safe House’s members and orders John to leave, only to be stunned when John punches him in the face much harder than he should be able to without an ability for him to copy. John reveals that he is responsible for the fliers, and Zeke asks why he would do it, knowing the Bureau will come after him, but John declares he’ll simply beat them all up, and moves to punch Zeke again.
