Synopsis[]
At a Bureau building, a formally dressed Arlo nervously fixes his tie while a similarly dressed Kassandra assures him that she’ll do the talking. The two then meet Leon, who Kassandra says is the man in charge of managing all Bureau branches in the region. Greeting the two, Leon commends them for the work they did infiltrating the Spectre base and asks how their injuries are, having heard of the dampener. Kassandra says they’ve recovered well, and Leon invites them to continue to the event.
Outside, Leon addresses a gathering of media members with Kassandra and Arlo beside him. Leon announces the Bureau’s raid on the Spectre facility and declares that the Authorities will continue targeting Spectre. Despite not having to speak, Arlo seems nervous about the size of the crowd. Leon then introduces Kassandra, who takes the podium to speak and announces that she will be in charge of all Spectre-related cases moving forward. Meanwhile, Seraphina watches the press conference from Darren’s apartment, and notices Arlo standing behind Kassandra. Realizing that their plan is working, Seraphina tells Leilah and Darren that Orrin will soon pay for his actions.
Later that day, at Lovun Prison, Rein sits in a cell and is visited by Kassandra. Rein pleads for Kassandra to release her, but Kassandra says that the situation was complicated when the rescue team witnessed Orrin giving commands through Rein, and are unwilling to release her until they can be sure that she’s no longer under his influence. Rein protests that she helped them escape, but Kassandra says that despite her explaining the situation, she doesn’t have the authority to release Rein. With her ability disabled, Rein asks how she’s supposed to survive in prison, and Kassandra assures her that she’ll get her out and will make sure Rein is taken care of in the meantime, but Rein dismisses her efforts.
The next day at Wellston, Arlo is the newest topic of discussion among the students, many of whom saw Arlo on TV at the press conference about Spectre. Some students remark on how Arlo didn’t feel the need to announce that he’d joined the Bureau, unlike the silently fuming Zeke, who is unable to imagine how Arlo got in on such a big case. Meanwhile, Arlo wonders if he’ll be forced to fight every battle against Spectre at half-strength, but his train of thought is interrupted by a hard slap on the back from John, who is surprised when Arlo is pained by the greeting. John asks what happened to his body armor and if Arlo’s ability was disabled, but Arlo says that he’s still recovering from an injury sustained during the raid.
On the roof, Arlo tells John that Orrin, Liam, and Candice escaped, but a lot of arrests were made that should yield information; as a result, Arlo has been promoted from an intern to a part-time officer, giving him more weight. John asks if he can get Sera immunity, but Arlo tells John to relax and that he almost died back there, to which John responds “Welcome to the club!” Arlo states that his boss is going to request Seraphina be pardoned, and that in light of the public victory won by taking down a Spectre facility, the pardon will likely be granted. Thrilled that Sera won’t have to hide anymore, John admits he’s impressed and appreciative of Arlo for pulling it off.
