This is the 310th episode of unORDINARY and the last episode of the Hardline Arc.
Synopsis[]
Kayden and John arrived at Darren's apartment, with John complaining about still not being used to this mode of transportation. He soon forgets his gripe when he sees Seraphina, who falls asleep on the couch while waiting for him. He proceeds to kneel at her side. Sera wakes up to John beaming at her. They catch up with each other before Darren interrupts them, chastising John for not greeting him and Leilah while being at his apartment. He also tells his guests to take off their shoes.
John asks why Darren needs his blood. Darren replies the amplifiers that were brought by Remi and Blyke had a lot of overlapping properties with John's previous blood sample. He's trying to create amplifiers capable of restoring John and Sera's abilities back. John points out that his ability had not diminished since using the recovery machine, which intrigued both Sera and Darren. The latter asks John to elaborate.
John explains that he could increase the aura flow through his channels, which is why he can make the ability he copied stronger. However, this costs him twice the aura needed to maintain it. In order to mitigate this, he focused on expanding his aura supply and stored them when he could. Sera muses that high tiers have enormous aura supply that were built up over time, which is why they are the only ones capable of using ability converter effectively. She also notes John being capable in controlling so many abilities, and correlates this to him being related to Jane. Sera then asks John for a private conversation.
In a secluded room, Sera presents to John the information she gathered in the last two days regarding Jane being his mother. John surprises her by saying he doesn't care about it. He wonders why his father and Sera bringing her up, explaining that Jane left his family years ago and they're practically strangers. Sera relates to John's estranged relationship with his mother to her own. She recounts her experience being raised by her mother, being forced to train and study every single day as well as the punishments for every time she stepped out of the line. Fortunately, she managed to escape her mother's torturous regime by overpowering her. Sera then expresses her indifference should anything happen to her mother. John sympathizes with Sera, but she assures him that she doesn't mind this outcome.
Sera asks about things back at the school, as well as Remi and Blyke. John tells her those two might not be safe for long, as Authorities had realized about their interference towards EMBER. Sera wonders whether Arlo can do something about it, however John answers that Arlo needs several promotions before he could have any influence. He agonizes that everyone around them is in trouble. Sera remembers Leon's speech from before, notifies John that she might not be around for much longer. This angers him, who complains about the unfairness of it all and how this is all caused by Orrin. Sera wonders if there's a way to ruin Orrin's plan. She realizes only Authorities can stand up to him. Sera about to inform John of her plan when Darren suddenly barges in. He berates them for having such a long private conversation and too cozy in each other's presence. Sera runs out of room in order to speak to Kayden regarding her plan.
