Synopsis[]
Isen is in bed being questioned by Arlo and John about what happened to Remi and Blyke. He answered Arlo vaguely, but raised a question to John as he had inconsistent answers. Arlo continues to bombard Isen with questions and asks why he isn't giving straight answers. Isen responds boldly "I don't trust you," which shocks Arlo.
Arlo gets mad at Isen and notes that he is trying to help them. Isen answers that he has been working with the same people at EMBER, justifying his vagueness. Arlo takes a second then blasts off and talks about the information he has access with, what he knows about the organization, and how it works. This overwhelms Isen, which John notices and tells Arlo to stop. John reassures Isen by talking about what Arlo said to Sera. Arlo adds more to the information by noting that Isen is suspected by the authorities as their accomplice and was planning to expel him and be put through a readjustment course, and may even be put into further trouble as the information gathered as before the most recent encounter. This makes Isen shaky and concerned about having their faces seen and part of those who injured one of their agents.
Isen talks about the series of events that occurred and talked about the stolen ability from Rei and Remi jumping in to fight. This sets Arlo in an internal rage, knowing Rei couldn't rest in peace. John says (seemingly in a joking manner) that Arlo works for them yet he didn't know those information. Arlo corrects him and says that he works for the Authorities, not EMBER, noting that only the highest officials are on it. John asks how he has encountered EMBER and talks about Kayden, which John and Isen recognize. John asks how they knew him and said that he was the one who took Blyke and Remi to get healed. This sets an assumption in John that they're likely with Darren, assuring to Arlo and Isen that they'll get a full recovery.
After that small sigh of relief, Isen asks about punishment on attempted murder on a government agent. Arlo notes that he is just started working and that it will take a few major promotions before he can get a say on anything.
Heading onto Wellston Hospital, Valerie enters Byron's hospital room with flowers asking about the process of recovery. Byron tries to raise up from the bed to say hi, but gets hurt in the chest. Valerie notes that he should take it slowly as he was found in critical condition.
While peeling an apple, Valerie asks about the perpetrators and Byron describes the four in a rough visual description. Valerie recognized their identities and realized they're the "Wellston" kids again. She talks about encountering them before and noting that she is the younger sister of X-Static. Byron complains about Wellston's troubles and how he's ready to get rid of Vaughn. Valerie says that Kassandra has enough evidence to throw him out of his position soon. Byron tells Valerie about "Spectre's student terrorist" on the loose, which raises Valeries eyebrow. She asks why the student hasn't been retrieved yet, and he said that she left the day before and the timing was oddly convenient that someone might have told her. This sets Valerie's radar that Arlo might be a part of their situation.
In Darren's Apartment, Blyke, Remi, and Seraphina are playing Blackjack quite loudly, this enrages Darren and yells at them to shut up as they were focusing. While that was happening, Darren and Leilah are talking about the amplifier and the result that came back from Neil's lab. Darren takes a look at the amplifiers, sees that it contains traces of DNA, and wonders why the sequence is an almost exact match to John's.
