Heh. Bet you deserved that.
- John to just one of many people who got their just desserts that day.
This is the 300th episode of unORDINARY.
Synopsis[]
Arnold gets back on his feet, staggering and wounded. His colleagues ask if he's alright, but the only thing on his mind is putting Vaughn in his place. Ignoring warnings about being out of his league, Arnold charges towards the headmaster. This time his folly gets him telekinetically flung through the office window.
The crash is heard by students from around the area, including Arlo. He sees Arnold gazing up at the broken window, and deduces that he's with the Authorities. Arlo also figures that they're here for Seraphina, but Vaughn is making things difficult for them. He still can't make sense of what Kassandra told him about the headmaster, and the cause of conflict between him and the Authorities remains a mystery as well.
The officer with purple hair informs Vaughn that assaults against them were serious crimes. Unfazed, Vaughn replies that he's willing to eject him and Nadia in the same manner if they didn't walk away at once. Forced to back down, the officer promises that they'll make him answer for this.
Later, John is walking towards the Safe House when he sees Arlo and Remi having a row in front of the club. Remi asserts that she's free to spend her time as she wishes, same as him, and tells him to keep his opinions to himself. From that point on, Arlo is given the cold shoulder, and gets the door slammed in his face. John can't help but comment that he no doubt had it coming. He then asks what's going on between them, and learns that Remi is angry about him joining the Authorities. John states that it shouldn't come as a surprise, seeing as how the governing body was behind the death of her brother. (Arlo did not expect John to know about that tragedy). John goes onto say that if any group took someone precious to him away, he would eradicate them with extreme prejudice. Arlo does not reply, so John says that they'll be seeing each other before walking past him and entering Room 224.
Inside the bustling classroom, John sits alone and solemnly thinks about Seraphina's plight. If not for her departure yesterday, the Authorities who came by would have arrested her. He then grinds his teeth about his impending spell of powerlessness. Being forced to stay within the "safety" of the school is suffocating without his best friend. There's nothing to look forward to on the horizon.
John suddenly gets a loud greeting from Dylan, who thanks him for the combat lessons. Evie asks him if they're still on for the next class later that day. John states that he'll be glad to continue teaching them for as long as they need.
At the University of Wellston, Kayden and Kuyo are debating the finer points of the latter's theory. Suddenly a voice cries out that somebody has been found. It comes from Isen, and together with Remi and Blyke, they wave down Kuyo. Aghast that they just showed up out of nowhere, Kuyo storms over. Kayden observes the curious presence of even more Wellston teenagers, and is thankful he's not the only one playing nanny. Kuyo's admonishment of their decision falls short when it's pointed out that he does the same thing, and even advocated visiting any time. Kuyo reminds them that his nearby roommate is working for the insidious Spectre organization, and that it might not be a good idea to fraternize in his presence. Kayden asks who the kids are, and Kuyo pretends that they're all his cousins before taking his leave in order to see to a personal matter involving them. Kayden remains convinced that it's just a cover story.
In private, Kuyo is angry that he didn't get a heads up. Remi shows him that she sent him texts which went unanswered. (Kuyo sheepishly realizes that study sessions tend to make you lose track of going-ons). Remi demands that he honor their agreement and provide her with info on EMBER as payback for her Spectre tip. Kuyo warns her about the real danger involved in her pursuit, but she remains headstrong. Blyke's eye catches something of interest. He points out something hidden behind a cabinet to Isen, who moves the obstruction. Kuyo is too late to stop them, and the trio see a familiar sight. It's a map, complete with photos linked by strings. Remi observes that Kuyo's notes differ from her own, and asks what the focus of his investigation is. He explains that after Rei died, he did a lot of snooping in order to come up with several months' worth of records of all of EMBER's Amplifier deals. Remi is surprised that he did all this alone, but he simply replies that the desire to avenge Rei is a mutual feeling between them.
