Jane had a child with this weakling? How disgraceful!

- Cameron

This is the 291st episode of unORDINARY.

Synopsis[]

Seraphina is surprised that the name Jane rings a bell with John. He asked if there were a picture to go with the name. Seraphina says that the image on file showed a woman with long, white hair and brown eyes. John cannot believe what he hears. He tells Seraphina that Jane is the name of his mother, a woman who was gone long before he formed any memories of her. The only traces of her were photos of her, with descriptions matching the one Seraphina just mentioned. Seraphina asks if he knows why she left. John sadly replies that he doesn't, given that it was too much for his father to even broach the subject. John only had a few clues about his mother. He only realized what her ability was when he discovered how to use his own. He had always thought that she abandoned the two of them because they both seemed powerless. Her alleged captivity may throw a wrench into that theory...but then again, it could all be a coincidence.

Elsewhere, William stands outside of a posh pad. Eventually, he works up the nerve to walk up to the entrance. He's greeted by a maid, who says that the Mister wishes not to be disturbed. William insists it's urgent, and promises to be brief. She sighs and agrees to see him in. As she goes to fetch her boss, William looks around. He wonders how anybody could stand living in such a large, empty house. William then hears the footsteps of the property owner: Cameron. Both men know each other. And there is no love between them. Even so, William pleads for help. Cameron ignores him, and chastises Marisol for allowing his solitude to be disrupted. She attempts to excuse her actions by saying that it might do him some good to break the long period of isolation he's subjected himself to. Cameron scoffs at the idea, saying that no good could come from associating with William, and orders his removal from the premises. William urges him to hold off on that, announcing that he brings news of Jane. Cameron stops, only to tell William off for trying to appeal to his better nature by mentioning his estranged sister. When William tells him that if he's ever been curious as to where she disappeared to, then it would be worth his while to listen. He shares the story of how the efforts of investigators he hired to help track Jane's whereabouts have finally paid off. Upon hearing that she was supposedly being held against her will in some secret lab, unable to break free, Cameron cuts William off. He dismisses the intel as a pack of lies, finding it more likely that Jane just came to her senses and ditched such a worthless fellow. William asserts that even if Jane fell out of love, she would never abandon their son. Cameron is disgusted to hear that his sister would cavort with such filth. William offers to show Cameron pictures of the situation, only to be angrily rebuffed. Cameron orders Marisol to show him out immediately. With neither able to change his mind, the maid urges William to leave before her boss decided to eject him personally. William sees no choice but to comply, but he resentfully slams the proof on a table just in case Cameron reconsiders. When he's gone, Marisol asks Cameron if he wants to give one look at what William brought. Without hesitation, he orders their destruction. She picks them up, and freezes when the photographs show that William's impossible story isn't without merit.

Outside, William hits a wall in frustration. He had always known Cameron never gave his opinion any mind, and there was no point hoping today would be different. But even he has to admit, the proof Simon delivered didn't make the matter anymore unbelievable. It would take a wildly powerful force to even apprehend Jane, yet NXGen somehow managed to keep her as their captive all this time. William thinks back, wondering where it could have gone all wrong.

William was enjoying a leisurely stroll through the park with his beloved Jane and their precious baby John. It should have been a happy family day. But William saw that Jane looked incredibly agitated for some reason. He asked her why she hadn't been her usual self in recent times. Slightly startled by the inquiry, Jane asked if William had any feeling that he was being stalked. William professed that wasn't focused on such matters, but was willing to hear her out. That is, until little John started wailing and painfully yanking his father's hair. Going into dad mode, William gets back to making sure his son enjoys a fun piggy-back ride. Jane watches them have fun, but is too worried to live in the moment.

This particular memory makes things click inside William's head. Could Jane have been worried then about the government agents keeping her now? William is unsure of his next move, but knows that the Authorities would definitely not help. He decides to give Simon a call.

In an alley somewhere, a dumpster emits a ringing sound. The phone within goes to voicemail, and Simon's recorded message assures the caller that he'll be in touch soon. Of course, that won't be possible, as Simon is also inside the dumpster. Slashed, burned, and dead as a doornail.
