Asset 47, Seraphina...I want her dead.
- Orrin
This is the 272nd episode of unORDINARY.
Synopsis[]
At Lovun Prison, Terrence sits alone in his cell. He's worn down by his sessions with Keon. Even when not being subjected to the interrogator's terrible power, he can't block out the resurfaced memories of his mother. Suddenly, water starts flowing from the pipes above him. The pool then transforms into a masked colleague. Terrence is glad that Spectre is finally doing something about his plight. The liquid man asks him what the Authorities managed to pry from his memories. Terrence says that he tried his best, but he couldn't keep the overview of their plan from them. He intends to tell Orrin everything as soon as they get back. But Terrence is told that a jailbreak is not on the agenda. Terrence realizes that Orrin must have ordered him to be eliminated. His pleas for the chance to make everything right is ignored, and his head becomes encased in water. His killer passes on Spectre's regards for his services. Even as he's drowning, Terrence tries his hardest to figure out why it's come to this. Orrin himself had personally reached out to him, and groomed him to be the agent he is today. Why would the man he thought of as his father throw him away so easily? Terrence does not reach an answer by the time he expires. His lifeless body collapses on the floor.
A long distance away, Orrin stands in his office. He reflects on how Seraphina managed to avoid punishment for ruining Spectre's operations. HIS brainchild. He determines that she has to be dealt with before she gets the chance to sway the other executives. Orrin gets a visit from his assassin, who reports the success of his mission. Orrin commends him, and assigns him his next target: Asset 47.
Morning comes, and John wakes up feeling incredibly sore from getting schooled by his old man. He goes to the common room, where he encounters Blyke. John is asked if he was beaten up by people who discovered his powerlessness. Blyke is surprised to hear that William was responsible for John's bruises, and wonders if that kindly older gentleman could turn up the terror as easily as his son. John asks why Blyke is up at this hour, and learns that Safe House business is demanding. John asks if the other members would be interested in learning self-defense, offering to be their instructor. Blyke believes that the idea might be popular, and promises to bring it up at the club meeting later in the day.
When school lets out, John tells Seraphina that the club approved the idea right away. That didn't leave a lot of time to prepare an unused room or safety equipment. But at least he could count on Seraphina to be a co-instructor, right? Of course.
Kayden and Kuyo attend the grand opening of the No-Doze Cafe. Kayden lets his roommate in on this chem whiz he met and how he streamlined a very complex formula. Kuyo is about to check it out when his eye catches two teenagers, one of them a girl he recognizes. Kuyo points her out to her "cousin", who wonders why she's out and about. The sight of their Wellston uniforms makes Kuyo wistful. Kayden asks if what he heard about Kuyo's turbulent school days was true. Kuyo claims that things weren't all that bad, at least until the old headmistress retired. He graduated when the place was as bad as he'd known it. He wonders how things were now. Kayden, on the other hand, is still wondering why Seraphina wasn't back at school, where being disabled isn't life-threatening. Sera and her friend go outside, where a green-haired man eyes them. He follows them, which doesn't go unnoticed by Kayden.
