Synopsis[]

At Lovun Prison, Terrence undergoes another interrogation session with Keon. The latter probes into the kid's mind, witnessing his past that includes being raised by his single mother, bullied by his peers, abused by said mother and watched her being overworked to death by her employers. Unsympathetic, Keon calls him weak, enraging Terrence. He blames the system of hierarchy created and enforced by the Authorities for the sufferings of those who didn't fit into the society. Keon disregards his point and continues the probing.

Terrence were later approached by Orrin at his mother's grave, who told his condolences to him. He later got recruited by the man, who groomed him and gave him a sense of purpose in his otherwise uneventful life. Terrence recoils at the memory, forcing Keon to end today's session. He reports his findings to his boss, divulging Spectre's modus operandi and members, as well as promising him the full report by the end of the week.

John wakes up from his nap while at the Safe House. He realizes that he will be late for his class. Dylan offers to accompany him, which he accepts. On their way, the blonde commends on John's fighting prowess. He wonders if the former King contemplates on being the club's instructor, which John answers non-commitally.

They encounter Zeke and Mardin, the former still in disbelief at John abandoning his position and choosing to side with the Safe House. He greets the black-haired fellow, while recognizing Dylan from their past encounter. The bully activates his ability and begins to harass him before John puts a stop to it. He tells Zeke to leave, who argues he was just goofing around. Nonetheless, he and Mardin awkwardly complies.

After his class, John goes to the rooftop to meet Seraphina. She notices something is up with him and encourages him to spill it. He explains that he initially felt relieved at having his ability disabled, but his brief run-in with Zeke made him have a change of heart. Seraphina relates to John's epiphany, says that a loss of ability makes her see things in a new light.

He asks her whether she managed to contact the organization who were responsible for this. She relays that she were struggling to get hold of her sister, but eventually succeeded to convince the latter to secure one last access to the device. John points out it will only last a week, to which Seraphina responds that she will steal it. He wonders how she's going to achieve that, and she iterates that she has some aces up her sleeve.
