- John

This is the 263rd episode of unORDINARY.

Synopsis[]

Rowden Hill[]

11:20 AM[]

As he waits for the right time to attack, Terrence watches as the schoolmates he betrayed fight for their lives. As soon as he feels his ability is back to normal, he signals his team to move out. There were only 15 minutes remaining for them to

11:22 AM[]

Safe House is in dire straits. It's only thanks to the exhaustive efforts Blyke, Isen, and especially John, that they're still alive. They feel that the least they could do is find the strength to get themselves out of danger.

11:23 AM[]

John fires away at the Spectre's infantry. As far as he can tell, they're no longer trying to seriously injure anybody. The enemy was stalling them, and that's unacceptable. John tells Blyke that he's unable to move, so his help will only be from a distance. No matter what, they have to deal with the last sniper. Only then would they be able to fight their way through Spectre and head downhill, free to worry about whatever Terrence had up his sleeve. And they better be quick about it. Blyke agrees, and offers to act as an irresistible target for the sniper. He encourages John and Isen to make their potshotting foe to regret give his position away. Isen asks if Blyke can handle himself out there. Setting John down, Blyke answers that there was no time to worry about that. He propels himself right into the heart of the enemy force, bobbing and weaving whilst punching out whoever he can.

11:24 AM[]

John's struggle to fight the pain gets harder by the minute. He doubts he can even stand on his own two feet. Isen snaps him out of it by reminding him that his work isn't done yet. The Jack points to the general area the last shot came from, and proposes that they aim there. He props up John's arm, who begins the firing sequence.

Steady...steady...

11:25 AM[]

Another beam shoots out of the trees, inflicting a minor injury on Blyke. At Isen's signal, John fires back at the same spot. The shot hits that treetop, but John cannot see if he hit his mark. Isen decides to hope for the best and rushes out into the open to support Blyke. John stays where he is and shoots a couple of their opponents.

11:26 AM[]

John turns to Safe House and tells them that there's not going to be a better time to escape. He orders that everybody pitch in to help the wounded down the hill and away from the battle. They obey, but Dylan stops to ask about how John's going to make it out of there. He answers that he'd regroup with the rest of them as soon as this quintet of foes were dispatched, and sends them on ahead. Dylan asks John to take care.

11:27 AM[]

As the fight rages on, Blyke tries to make sense of Spectre's strategy. If he really was the only target, why send so many agents? Contrarywise, if it's high-tiers they wanted, why not go for the lot of their group while they were far from the safety of Wellston High? A sudden realization hits him like a ton of bricks. His attention snaps to the lone, "friendly" sniper a distance away.

11:28 AM[]

Blyke shouts for John to move to the safety of the group. Suddenly, Blyke is knocked to the floor, but none of the other shocked students can get a good look at what decked him.

11:29 AM[]

John's eyes don't make out what just happened, but he can scarcely sense a presence. It was somebody invisible! Isen notices as well, and doesn't hesitate to pounce. He puts pins the spook and puts him in a headlock, and curses Terrence for endangering everybody. But when the invisibility wears off, he realizes he made an error: it wasn't Terrence he was choking! Isen soon realizes that somebody else is sneaking up behind them unseen.

Blyke recovers from the blow too late. Yet another invisible person presses his weight on top of him. Blyke can't see it, but this third assassin is about to use a syringe on him.

11:30 AM[]

John shoots the guy at the last second, exposing him and giving Blyke a visible chin to elbow. Blyke takes stock of John, and is comforted to have his power being used on their behalf for a change. His musing nearly costs him, as Isen is trying to fend off his own attacker's attempt to inject him. Blyke answers his friend's call for help and punches the Spectre agent out.

11:31 AM[]

John struggles to stay conscious long enough to make sense of the chaos. Terrence's aura was everywhere, but little rat himself was nowhere to be seen. His aura sensing alerts him to another invisible attacker closing in from behind. He fires a shot at the guy just in time. John fights through the pain of standing up, and begins taking his vengeance out on the mole responsible for disrupting his peaceful existence. Or so he thought.

11:32 AM[]

After landing a few punches, the invisibility wears off. And John sees that this fourth attacker isn't Terrence either. Before he even has time to fully register his grave mistake, he feels a prick on his neck. Terrence, the real Terrence, injects John with a full dose of Ability Disabler.
