I'll show you what happens when you talk back to someone leagues stronger than you!
- Kree to Blyke, before he finds out that the latter is the King of Wellston
This is the 250th episode of unORDINARY.
Synopsis[]
As Blyke and the troublemakers face off, onlooking parkgoers remark that the lone redhead will fare no better than security against the Rowden Royals. Blyke is stunned that these punks actually hold such esteemed titles. The Jack boasts that Blyke, like the rest of the park, was now at the mercy of Rowden's strongest. Blyke is more disgusted than impressed that these Royals are harassing others instead of protecting them. Meanwhile, John is nervous about what his own presence means for this situation. The Rowden Jack offers a sporting chance to the out-of-towners: the Royals will leave if beaten in a one-on-one match. Blyke steps up and accepts the challenge, swearing he'll win. The Jack believes otherwise.
Blyke is soon up against the one who introduces himself as Kree, King of Rowden. Kree starts off with some pre-fight banter, saying that being a tourist is no excuse for getting away with talking back to someone above you. He then activates his ability, and envelops much of himself in impressive-looking armor. John informs Blyke that Kree isn't just a defensive fighter. Blyke seems to keep this in mind, as he stays loose and evades Kree's quick charge attack. He then sneaks around and adds to his opponent's momentum with an energy pulse from behind. Kree barely manages to stop himself, but insists that it'll take more than wind to beat him. And that's just what Blyke sends his way in the form of three energy shots. Kree and the other Royals are genuinely surprised that somebody could actually hold his own against one of them. Blyke engages in some mid-fight banter and mocks the so-called "King". Kree angrily shouts that the fight is far from over, and creates a shockwave by slamming the ground. Blyke uses beams to dodge backward, which is exactly where the oncoming Kree wants him. But Blyke blocks Kree's punch like a champ, and powers through the pain to counter. Using his opponent as leverage, Blyke uses an Energy Beam to pivot himself around Kree and give some oomph to an elbow strike to the back of the rival King's head. Kree is launched forward and slides face-down on the ground before skidding to a halt. The other Rowden Royals can't believe their eyes. The spectators who remained behind to watch come around to Blyke's capability, and dare to hope that this will be the last time the Rowden Royals will harass them. In the back of the crowd, the mysterious hoodie-man who tailed John silently observes the scene.
Blyke claims victory, and tells Kree to hold up his end of deal and leave the park with his group in tow. Suddenly, John shouts for Blyke to watch out behind him. The warning comes too late, and Blyke is slashed across the torso by the Rowden Queen's bladed arm protrusions. She then tells him that they've decided to renege on their agreement. Kree then stands up, fully healed. Blyke is shocked until he sees that there's a link connecting Kree to the fourth member of the group, who must be the healer. John sounds another alarm, which Blyke responds to in time. The projectiles he avoided at the last second were courtesy of the Rowden Jack, who says that they're through underestimating him. Blyke wonders how he'll overcome the gang, only for John to devise a strategy for him: go for the healer. The irate Blyke turns to him and demands to know why he doesn't come over and contribute something to the fight other than unsolicited advice. Shuddering, John says that it's because Blyke is perfectly capable of handling the situation on his own. He then continues by saying that the Rowden attackers wouldn't be able to catch up with him if he just went for it. Blyke notices that John, the original Joker, had the shivers. But the ongoing fight reclaimed his attention. Displeased that he has to fight a whole group with nothing but a backseat driver in his corner, Blyke figures that a better idea than John's wasn't coming anytime soon. So he makes an energy-boosted beeline for the healer and knocks him out. John cheers him on, and suggests going for the purple one next. The Jack listens as John accurately describes his limited, slow-charging shots. Figuring that they were being outed by an ability that specialized in strategizing, he calls for his comrades to shut him up before their weaknesses were given away. They take the advice and focus their next attacks on John. John sees them coming, but stands paralyzed by fears of relapsing into the monster that oppressed New Bostin High. Blyke realizes that John wasn't going to save himself, and intervenes. Using an energy pulse to repel the King and Queen, Blyke grabs John and chastises him for playing the bystander instead of showing them what he's really made of. As he's demanding John to take some kind of action, Blyke gets sucker-punched by Kree into unconsciousness. The Rowden King shoots a condescending look at John who immediately starts wondering why it's taking him so long to power up put these thugs in their proper place.
Blyke comes to, and his first thoughts are bitter resentment that John refused to back him up in the conflict. But then he becomes aware that his injuries are being healed. He turns to see that he has John to thank for that. Now powered up with a suite of abilities sampled from the Royals, John is ready for action.
