Plot[]
Now that he was finished dealing with Mardin, John turned his attention to Julien. The terrified bully began to flee proclaiming he technically never did anything to John. Julien fled to Zeke despite the latter's demand that he stay away. Julien demanded to know what they were supposed to do now that their plan to expose John had the exact opposite result they were expecting. John kicked him into a wall before Zeke could answer him.
Zeke knew he was outmatched and began to retreat. John outpaced him and made it clear that escape was not an option. Zeke tried posturing and threw a punch with all his might. John caught the incoming fist, stopping it cold. Even the arm's quick shift into defensive form proved to be useless in preventing John from breaking it. John pauses his attack to say he still remembers how Zeke "greeted" him when he first moved into the dorms. The memory of the incident flashes in Zeke's mind before his pummeling resumes. John pauses again to ask Zeke how it feels to be on the receiving end. Zeke says he's sorry, but this only angers John. He rhetorically asks what Zeke is apologizing for, and throws him asking if it's for finally getting checked. John knows full well that Zeke would never regret his actions if he were up against a real cripple.
Zeke tumbles some considerable distance, but a vengeful John isn't through with him yet. He prepares deliver a killing blow when Zeke desperately admits that messing with John was his worst mistake. John tells Zeke he'll have to get on his knees beg for him to end his assault. Zeke's pride makes him hesitate, so John forces him to fall prostrate well. Zeke finally begs his former victim to stop. John once more remembers Claire calling him a monster, only now it doesn't faze him. If oppressing the weak with overwhelming power made one a monster, then everyone was a monster. Now it was their turn to pay for their cruelty.
John announces to all witnesses watching from inside the school the he is now King of Wellston. He warns all that any who dares cross him will suffer as Zeke did. Students watch in disbelief as John makes sure that everyone understood that nobody would be spared from pain for their transgressions. When he finishes speaking, John kicks Zeke one last time and walks away from his unconscious form.
Arlo stands by while the students around him wonder how he'll react. They get their answer when he states that it was finally official. Holden asks whether Arlo is really alright with not taking a stand. Arlo reminds all that he and the other Royals already suffered defeat at John's hands, leaving no question as to who has always been the strongest. By hierarchy rules, John is King by official declaration, and there is nothing Arlo can do about it. Holden is unsure that they'll get used to Arlo not watching over them anymore. Arlo replies that him not being King was a reality they all had to come to terms with. He leaves, hailing the new King, John
