Summary[]
Blyke and Isen are walking down the school hallway, talking about meeting with Remi. Isen tells Blyke that he’ll meet them after the press meeting when he overhears someone talking about Zeke being found bloody and unconscious near the west courtyard. He wonders to himself if John could have been behind it, but Blyke snaps him out of it and Isen says he’ll call him later.
Later in the school press room, everything is going as usual when Arlo bursts in, catching everyone’s attention. He walks up to Cecile and slams the article on Seraphina's ability loss down onto the table, leaving a hole in the table in the process, and furiously demands to know why the flier has been posted around school. He tells Cecile that since they used to be teammates, he was lenient when she insulted Rei and Remi, but that disrespecting Seraphina and defying a direct order from him is a bridge too far for him to let slide. While Juni hopes to avoid catching Arlo’s attention off to the side, Cecile claims that she has no knowledge of the article, but Arlo knows better given Cecile’s control of the school’s information. Arlo promptly fires Cecile, making Isen the head of the school newspaper in her place; when Cecile protests, Arlo dares her challenge his authority, if she thinks she can. Furiously, Cecile fires several energy needles at Arlo at close range, but he blocks her assault without lifting a finger, and she is left with only a series of reflected slash wounds for her trouble. Arlo banishes Cecile from the press room, and knowing that she’s been defeated, Cecile leaves, Before leaving himself, Arlo warns Isen not to disappoint him, leaving Isen stunned with his new promotion. Later on, Isen arrives at Remi's dorm to meet with her and Blyke, and when they ask how the meeting went, he’s unsure how to answer.
