Branish is a town condensed of mostly low-tiers and lower mid-tiers. This town has self-governed itself for years, without the help of the Authorities. It has an office where Waldo and the blue-haired woman used to work.

Plot[]

History[]

Waldo was employed at a company in Branish. One day, he was fired for slacking off. He harbored a bitter grudge over it. He would eventually purchase some doses of Ability Amplifier from EMBER. With the aid of this drug, he showed up to the company months after he was fired, and humiliated the same boss who kicked him out. From there he lorded over his new power over his old co-workers, and eventually took over the whole town. He formed a gang of the town's strongest residents to enforce his selfish rules, like making the other townspeople pay him protection money every week.[1]

In order to ensure nobody resisted him, Waldo had his gang take hostages as well. Families easily caved when the lives of loved ones were threatened in this manner.[2]

Vigilante Arc[]

Waldo's actions in Branish attracted the attention of Remi, Blyke, and Isen. To them, it was the perfect starting point to launch Remi's official vigilante career as X-Rei, as well as the underlying mission of avenging X-Static. They arrived to find Branish a ghost town. As X-Rei roamed the empty streets looking for signs of Waldo, she peered into the windows of homes. She sometimes saw terrified residents shut draw their curtains at the sight of her looking in. She eventually came across one of Waldo's goons trying to force his way into the blue-haired woman's home. As soon as he finally broke in to menace the woman for not paying the weekly fee, X-Rei took him down with one zap. She approached the blue-haired woman to determine if she was alright, but was confused by her fearful insistence that she had nothing left to give her.[1]
