Agent Rowden was stationed in Rowden Town as part of a mission to steal from NXGen.[1]

But as the time to put their plan into action drew near, he was sent by Spectre in response to Terrence reporting John lurking around their territory the night before. Rowden headed to the park where the students were hanging out and tracked down the nosy tagalong.[2] He sent word back to HQ about John's continued presence and proceeded to stalk him. When John encountered the Wellston elites and tried to keep Blyke from ditching him, Rowden stuck close.[3] His task eventually led him to a big brawl that had broken out in the park. From a comfortable distance, Rowden watched as the local Royals were humbled by Wellston's Kings.[4] He also witnessed firsthand the damage John could do if he interfered in Spectre's plans.[5]
When the day was done and all the students made it back to the hotel, Seraphina was summoned to meet with Agent Rowden to go over the mission. Though earlier than planned, he told her that the mission had to be revised.[6] Rowden explained that there were unforeseen factors that complicated things, which Seraphina noted was below par for their organization. Ignoring her, Rowden told her that she would be responsible for pilfering some research in the form of documentation and one physical sample from a NXGen Facility in Arcwood. Seraphina asked what made the research so appealing, but all Rowden was willing to say was that it involved "Conversion Technology". He then detailed the roles he and their teammates would play in supporting her before giving her a map of her objectives throughout the facility. Finally, he handed her a bag of supplies necessary for her to adopt her false alias of "Meryl," a research assistant who had official business on the premises. Their meeting concluded with arrangements for further details during the operation.
As the designated driver/getaway man, Rowden pulled up to the starting point the next day. Upon Meryl's arrival he checked if she was ready to go before hitting the road.[1] When they got there, Tech gave them eyes throughout the building. Rowden told Meryl to head on in whilst he kept an eye on the monitors inside their van. He watched as she accompanied Stacey into the building and to the first safe zone without incident. He then kept an eye out for Dr. Kelley, who was scheduled to arrive at the first target room at 8:30. Rowden coordinated with the group's Communicator to signal Seraphina's mad dash to the opened door. Not being able to tell what happened with his eyes alone was tense, but she reported her successful infiltration to the team.[7] He remained on standby until Seraphina got the first of what they came for. Rowden had Tech ensure the camera feed looped long enough for Seraphina to make a flawless exit. They coordinated in a similar manner to enter the room where the samples were kept. Things got unexpectedly hairy when the Aura Sensors in the room started going off.[8]
After Seraphina made it back to the van safely, Rowden inquired her about why her ability briefly glitched. She fired back, saying she should be the one to ask that to him. Communicator brought their focus back to the task at hand: whether the goods are secured, which she did by handing them to him. The van then sped to the destination, a middle-man in the middle of nowhere.
At downtown, Seraphina asked to be dropped here in order to join her friends. Rowden said they would, after the job officially over. She argued that won't be necessary, but he insisted, stating that for her service to be recognized, she had to see through the end of the assignment. She reluctantly complied, despite personally against it.
Twenty minutes later, the team delivered the items to another agent. Once he left the area, Seraphina again demanded to be dropped off. Rowden told her to take a chill pill and wait for a bit. Except ten minutes passed, and they were still there. Impatient, Seraphina took her phone and turned it on. The missed calls from her friends, and strings of messages made her realize this is part of their plan.[9] Rowden, along with Tech and Communicator fell victim to Seraphina's unbridled rage as she beat them out of van. He looked on as she promised fate worse than death awaited them shall anything happen to her friends, before passing out.[10] He woke up to Tech reporting Seraphina's U-turn to their superiors. She checked up on him, with the man unsure why their newest recruit betrayed them, and wondered how to explain this to their bosses.[11]
